The Importance of Taking Breaks
I don't write often about lifestyle and general advice. Mostly because I believe there are others better suited to do it than me, but also because I don't particularly enjoy talking about my life in posts or social media.

But this is a general advice and a great one I think, one that we often disregard, especially when we are young and nothing seems to stop us / we know it all.

# To take breaks.

One way to do it is like in the image above, if you are having a desk job (like a programmer). Just take a few minutes to stretch your body, preferably with the eyes off the screen and standing too once an hour while you work (so this guy in the image doesn't use the break 100%).

But there are other kinds of activities I consider breaks.

Interrupting the monotony of an activity of any kind is a break. Like adding some music to the mix. Or as I do, take walks in the middle of the day, usually after lunch (not in the summer though, then it's more like evening walks).

In the companies/employees world there is the week-end, and it does serve a purpose. If you are self-employed and all days are alike for you, you might tend to ignore the need of the body to take a break during the week to recharge.

That's not a good idea. One full day of relaxation is best. But sometimes two shorter days combined can make up for it.

And of course there is the vacation. Every once in a while, routine must be broken. A time to enrich with new experiences or to relax. Your body and mind will tell you what you need more.

Now it's time for me to relax and enjoy the day. Going to a nearby resort with friends for the better part of the day. It'll be fun!
