I'm a decision maker and the process isn't always easy - there's sometimes negative repercussions which can difficult to adapt to - but the decisions typically improve my life, that of others, or affect changes that ultimately work positively. Some are minor and others profound, with an array of others in between, and because I'm human and subject to the faults and failures of the species like everyone else, not all of my decisions have worked out as planned or even to my benefit at all. That's life. 

Decisions have to be made though and the consequences of them accepted and enjoyed, or accepted and worked around which often brings the need for more decisions, *the old back to drawing board and try again scenarios*. The only catastrophic decisions I've made were those *I didn't make,* though, meaning a failure to make decisions has rarely moved me forward which inhibits life down the road. (A decision in itself I suppose.)

With me, a lot of that has been a joint effort with others as the decisions I make often involve others, but I run the process solitarily as well. A constant is that I have worked to ensure I'm in the right *place* to consider options, weigh and measure, and to look into the future at the possible outcomes; something I believe has led me towards better decisions. That's not always possible though, in-the-moment decisions are also required, but finding the right *place* physically, mentally and emotionally can help a lot.

The beach pictured above is one of the places I've made so many decisions or where I've contemplated scenarios and situations prior to the decision being made and I have found it to be an amazing place to weigh and measure, see different perspectives and objectively and discuss them.

I was there the other evening which is when I snapped this picture and, as usually happens, discussions ensued, various perspectives were considered and some worst-case/best-case scenarios determined. No decisions were made, but that couple hours of walking and talking helped move things forwards towards what I know will be better decisions eventually.

We all do things differently and what works for one may not for another; we all need to make decisions though, it's unavoidable. I'm able to do it anywhere but find when I'm in the right headspace and physical environment my process is much more effective than when I'm not; I think it's about finding the clarity to think better. Making the decision on when and where to make decisions has been incredibly productive for me.
