Garbage Australian's: Smith and Bancroft
Despite not being a fan of cricket I recently wrote a post about the Australian Cricket Team ball tampering incident. You can read it ***here.*** Essentially it simply states how unacceptable cheating is in sport and highlights the often dubious way in which cheating is handled. I was quite clear that in my opinion the two perpetrators will be handed a slap on the wrist and will probably have book deals as well! A pretty pathetic way of dealing with cheaters and a very poor example for young people.

Anyway, true to form, the two pieces of garbage who admitted to ball tampering and cheating have gotten off lightly. The Captain, Steve Smith, with a one match suspension and loss of match payment and the other cheating asshole, Cameron Bancroft, with a 75% loss of match payment. You can see the two despicable cheaters in the image below. As you can see they look remorseful of their cheating ways... [heavy sarcasm there folks]

I wonder what message this sends to the thousands of children out there playing sport, working hard, training and applying effort. I'll tell you what...

*It sends the message that cheating is not dealt with very harshly and that if you get caught it won't affect your career too much. In fact, it'll give you great content for your upcoming biography and current affairs TV show deals.*

What an absolute joke! It makes me wonder just how far up the chain the ball-tampering-cheating attempt actually goes. Is the coach involved? Considering the way the team was performing I wouldn't be surprised. They were obviously desperate for a win; Maybe because they had a bet on themselves? Hmm, that raises another issue...Have they been losing to drive the odds up with the intention to then place a massive bet on themselves? I wouldn't put it past them. Bloody cheaters.

Anyway, Australian cricket, and cricketers, are a massive joke in the cricket, and general sporting world, and I hope it stays that way for a long time. I won't be purchasing any tell-all books by the two cheaters and I hope no one else does also. They don't deserve to profit.

Oh, just in case you are wondering what I think their penalty should have been...I think they should be wiped from any records and statistics they have ever appeared in, be banned from playing the sport professionally and the Australian Cricket Team should be suspended as a whole for 12 months. That's how you deal with cheaters.

I recall a certain bloke called Lance Armstrong admitting to cheating and look what happened to him! I also recall the Australian media tearing him down, denigrating and disrespecting him...And yet these cricketers *"deserve a fair go for a simple mistake they made?!"* Say Lance Armstrong's name these days and it's greeted with scorn...Will the same happen to these two cheaters?

Pathetic. Australian cricket and the media both!
