Coffee and I are old friends (coffee is older than me of course) and I do a lot of thinking over coffee. With this in mind I decided to start a little concept called *thoughts over coffee* which I'll be doing from time to time.

I don't like laziness or reward it and while I don't have anything against down-time, relaxation, doing nothing and such other legitimate activities being lazy grinds my gears. There's many different forms of laziness including below.

### Laziness - Self-limiting mindset

*"Am I good enough?*"

I can't recall saying it but I know I've thought it and hated doing so. It's lazy and limiting and I'm better than that. I'm human though, as are we all, and I think it's quite normal to think like this for most of us...unproductive, but typical. If we can overcome thoughts like this however, if we can find that courage, great things await.

Feeling like I want to develop and grow as a person is something that's stayed with me from a young age; I see myself as a sponge soaking up what I can to use later on or to benefit from or improve the present. If I'm not developing I'm going backward, being left behind. With this in mind I've put myself out there at risk of failure, ridicule, jealousy and other such things and I'm ok with it because *choosing not to grow and develop is laziness.*

Defeating a self-limiting mindset comes down to the ability to see and feel uncomfortable situations but place oneself into them regardless. No it's not easy, but it's valuable. The easy option is having a self-limiting mindset but that's unlikely to be something that a person is proud of...and life is too short not to feel like we're living it the best way.

What do you reckon? If you want to comment below then go ahead, I'm interested in your thoughts and experiences.
