Risi and I sat at the shore, glancing admiringly at the galloping waves of the sea. We had come to Bar beach to celebrate St. Valentine's day. While we, overshadowed by love, looked on, suddenly, the mighty waves of the sea pushed a green, transparent bottle towards Risi's feet. .jpeg) [Image source](https://goo.gl/images/t7Lzjn) Frightened, I picked up the bottle and observed that imprisoned within its walls was a little brown paper. Curious, I opened the bottle, set free the paper, which carried the strangest words I have read. It ran: > To whosoever findeth this bottle: *I beseech thee to make it known to my father, Lord Williams Sandals of Portsmouth, if thou findeth him alive, that I seeketh his eternal forgiveness. For he chargeth me many times to goeth not to sea. Now I perisheth, the last man who standeth amongst a party of two scores men. Tell my mother, Helen Sandals, that I love her.* *Peace be unto you,* **James Sandals** *25/12/1798* Risi held my hands in firm clasp, tears rolling now her eyes. I wished I had not uncorked the bottle, stumbling on a message which had floated on the sea for over two centuries.
