,
**So we have what is called a blockchain, which was developed a few years back by someone whose name is supposed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, no one knows who he is and no one knows were he comes from which sounds pretty weird to me. But he invented a distributed database that holds a continuosly growing list of records called blocks. Supposedly this blockchain cannot be tampered with and is a reliable history of everything that has moved through it.** **Now many blockchain enthusiasts believe that this blockchain can practically save the world, by eliminating let’s say corruption as the blockchain cannot be tampered with, and nobody knows what it’s limits are so we cannot know what all of it’s uses can be.** **Personally I have certain problems with this, as I have read of several cases in which it has been hacked, even though always there comes out a reason for the hack and it is never a weakness of the blockchain.** **Up to now, as far as I know the most important thing brought about by the blockchain has been the emergence of crypto currencies of which, as we know the most successful has been and is Bitcoin, even though every day I hear of a new coin with even better functions than Bitcoins, sounds like the Iphone or Windows, every few days someone comes up with a better idea.** **I am ok with that, I know many people have been able to enjoy a better quality of life thanks to crypto currencies and that is to be applauded, in fact I am very happy about this, suppose it is able to get even 1% of the world’s population out of poverty it would be more than practically any person or group has been able to do, I’m talking about 70 million people who would see their lives improved so much.** **Now I am no expert on the blockchain in fact I am practically an ignoramus, so you shouldn’t take my word for it, in fact I know so little it sometimes frightens me, suppose this blockchain in the future receives so much data it takes on a life of it’s own and we have the scenario played out in Terminator man against AI better said Skynet, it becomes aware of itself? See I have a very active imagination and the worst thing it is more on the negative side, because up to now about 98% of what I hear or know about this technology is positive.**

[Pictures Source](https://pixabay.com)
