As funny as it may sound, the famous and luxurious Lamborghini car brand was birthed as an outcome of an insult to a man who was the owner of a tractor company; **Ferruccio Lamborghini**.

Ferruccio Lamborghini was born in the family of poor farmers on 28th April, 1916. His parents worked hard at the farms to make up for the daily expenses and eventually with their hard earned savings they bought tractor to aid their farming activities. 


Ferruccio developed his interest in farm mechanics out of curiosity. One day, when Ferrucio started working and repairing his father’s tractor, his father decided that he would send his son to for technical education and he borrowed some money and enrolled him at one of the technical institute to study mechanics. 

In 1944, during the world war, Ferrucio Lamborghini enrolled into the Italian Air force where he served as a mechanic. He was eventually captured after the war and became a prisoner in the British Military. 

As a prisoner, they forced him to work with other mechanics in the Motoring department after discovering his technical and mechanical abilities. 

After the war, when he returned home he started a small garage and worked as a mechanic. Soon after, he started assembling and repairing tractors with old war surplus material for local farmers.

It was back then that the Lamborghini Tractor Brand started. With Ferrucio’s hard work and love for mechanics, it became a successful business which made him a wealthy man. 

He owned multiple exotic cars back then like Mercedes S1300, a Jaguar and a Ferrari. But his Ferrari ran into problems with clutch often. Ferruccio who had sound knowledge of engines, went to Enzo Ferrari to give some suggestions on how he can solve the issues of other customers of Ferrari products as well. Enzo Ferrari told him to stick with making tractors and leave the car industry alone.

Lamborghini felt insulted and took this as a challenge. He decided to build his own cars, and in 1963, the ever shining luxury car brand of Lamborghini was created. The brand became one of the iconic heart-throb brands of car brands globally.
