 ------------------------------------ The story of the white tree remained a myth to the new generation, no one believed in it anymore. To make things worse, a hospital has been built on the very spot where the tree used to be, and that wiped out its last memories of it. Jokes are now been made about the tree's existence, the very few people who believed in the story were old and too weak to tell the stories anymore but prophecy has it that the white tree would return someday to the spot where it was before civilization came and that place must be treated as a sacred place.  Among the believers of the white tree was Clara Smith, she would be turning 90 years in a few months. She always claimed that she was as still alive because she needed to see her first great-grandchild before she leaves the world, many thought old age was getting the best of her but she repeats this thing over and over with confidence. One thing Clara does best was telling stories about the white tree whenever the family is gathered, and everyone listens during the yearly gathering even though the story became boring to them. She was so obsessed with the belief, that her grandchildren always thought she was possessed but that wasn’t the case because aside from old age, she has some connection with the white tree. ------------------------------------ Her parents had a delay in giving birth, they visited the white tree as advised by their friends, and that month her mother conceived. The pregnancy result was Clara and they weren’t able to have another child till they passed away, Clara was referred to as the daughter of the white tree by her parents but even Clara was too old to remember that.  At that time, her favorite granddaughter was pregnant; ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ she was very close to Clara. Unlike others, she chooses to stay in the province with her husband because she hates the city rush. Alicia ran errands for her grandmother and she enjoys putting her head on Clara’s legs when listening to her old day’s stories, they were best of friends. A few days to Clara's 90th birthday, Alicia felt some pain in her belly while decorating her grandmother’s residence for the birthday. ------------------------------------  She went to the hospital and was told that the baby would be coming anytime soon, she went back home to prepare herself. Her grandmother was excited, even Alicia's husband couldn’t hold the joy. They were all expecting the baby but it didn’t come as said. The doctor assure them it would come since the test showed that everything was fine. They waited and it finally came the night before Clara’s birthday, she was taken to the hospital by her husband and her grandmother went with them because the couple was at her place when Alicia fell into labor. Alicia was rushed into the labor room while her husband and Clara were restless in the waiting room but they didn’t stop praying for her safe delivery. It's been over 2hrs and there was no news from the doctors, grandmother became so worried and she started praying in the name of the white tree. The doctor eventually came out and mentioned that Alicia was having difficulty and they might need to do surgery to bring the baby out, her husband wasn't happy; he just wanted his wife to be okay. He followed the doctor since he needed to sign some documents of approval and pay some money. He was away when Clara started feeling cold, it was strange and she couldn't understand what the feeling was, she could hardly move her feet and it was the same situation for everyone in the hospital. In a twinkle of an eye, there were fireflies everywhere. It was so much that they lighted up the whole place as they moved together, it looked like they were heading somewhere. Everyone was wowed but no one could move, the expression on the people's faces was great and who would have believed the story without a video? The fireflies headed for the theatre, Alicia was lying on the bed there waiting for blades to cut her belly open. The fireflies circled her several times, it looks like the bed was placed right on the spot it was aiming for. Alicia turned to look at the beauty and she was wowed, she seems to be the only one who could move. She tried turning to touch it when she felt a sharp pain, she screamed to call the attention of the doctor and the fireflies stopped moving. "I need help!!!" she screamed and the fireflies reacted, it looked like they heard Alicia. They formed a big circle above her and entered Alicia's belly, the atmosphere returned to normal and no one could explain what happened. Alicia's husband returned and Clara told him everything she saw, he didn't believe it because he sometimes took Clara's words for old age problems. The doctor went into the theatre to begin the surgery when they discovered she has put her to bed by herself, they were surprised to see the baby with white hair and that didn't stop them from doing the necessary things. The doctor broke the news to Alicia's husband, and soon, they were able to see the baby. ------------------------------------  ------------------------------------ Immediately Clara saw the baby, she knelt and praised the white tree. Everyone thought she was possessed but Alicia took her seriously, she asked herself many times why her baby had white hair from birth. Clara was taken home to rest but she died in her sleep, she has seen what she was expecting. It was on her birthday and everyone began to remember her words, the family gathered and she was buried. Alicia was discharged and the baby was named Brittney, she was a beauty that everyone admired. Even the blind could feel her beauty but she couldn't walk even at the age of 10, her parents did everything possible to get her on her feet but nothing worked. They got tired since the doctors couldn't diagnose what was wrong with her legs and they decided to let her be while they concentrated on her siblings but Brittney was very helpful. She could do things that even her parents couldn't do, she had these fairies that took instructions from her. She would clean the house without moving a finger, Alicia was always surprised about it but they were quiet about it.  Brittney wasn't famous at school, she would heal wounds, and prevent accidents but still other students didn't get close to her because she had white hair, couldn't walk, she is somehow weird. She could have been a star if they knew she had magic but she chose to hide it from everyone. She grew into a beautiful lady and decided to leave the City, her parents were worried about her but she knew she would be fine. Brittney was tired of being alone, she had few friends but she wanted more. She wanted a companion, she wanted love, she could easily possess a guy but she wouldn't do that and no one was ready to be committed to her because she couldn't walk and her white hair was something else. After much deliberation, she moved out of the city to find love and happiness. She couldn't hide who she was, she healed a little boy who was cut by iron on the bus, she did it from far and no one knew she did it. Brittney moved into a new apartment, she wanted to walk. ------------------------------------ She wanted a normal life like everyone and one day, she fell into a trance. She saw a tall white tree that could speak, the tree offered to take her power in exchange for her to walk. She was happy and wouldn't think twice about it, she was about to say yes when she remembered how she has been able to save lives and help people with her magic. She was standing in the dream, she burst into tears as she said 'I choose to remain this way, the people need me more than I needed my legs". Brittney woke up with tears in her eyes and she wept more as she screamed, why can't I just have a good life?. Brittney clocked 30, she was happy helping others but the loneliness she was feeling had bad effects on her. She was heading to the mall one evening when she saw an accident scene, she wasn't in the mood to use her power but she went through to heal the victim. That particular magic made her weak and she fell from the chair, she was rushed to the hospital where the accident victim was taken to be examined. Brittney woke up later and was allowed to go the next day, her power wasn't strong enough to do anything so she needed help with her wheelchair. ------------------------------------  ------------------------------------ She was struggling with it when the man she saved offered to help her push the chair, she felt loved at that moment. No one suspected her magic in the new city so it was easy for her to move freely, she wished she could tell the man that she healed him but that wouldn't be a smart move. He helped her to the mall and they somehow started a conversation, they exchanged contacts and became friends. A few months after, he made his intentions known about dating her. Brittney was surprised and it got her emotional, she didn't hesitate to say yes.  That night she saw the white tree in her dream again, the white tree said it didn't regret using her body as an abode since growing in the hospital wouldn't be possible. The tree told Brittney everything she needed to know about her magic, it further explained that she would have never found true love if she was selfish because the only man that would love her dearly would have died in that accident if you had exchanged the magic for her legs. The discussion was over and she woke up only to discover that her legs were heavy, she tried stretching them to see if it would help but her fairies whispered into her ears to try standing up. She wasn't sure of what she heard and they repeated it, Brittney didn't believe them because the white tree never mentioned to her that she was going to walk. She was still thinking about it when her lover knocked, he got her a big teddy with flowers. He placed them on the sofa as instructed by Brittney, she told him to help her out of the chair and he did gently to prevent her from falling. She took a few steps and discovered she could walk, she jumped and he moved quickly to catch her, he was surprised she didn't fall.  How did that happen? They hugged each other as they both got emotional. Brittney called her parents immediately to share the news, they traveled to see Alicia and got married months after. The couple lived happily and she never mentioned her abilities to her husband as she continued healing people anonymously. ------------------------------------ When she clocked 50, the white tree appeared again. It asked her how life was treating her, Brittney expressed her happiness as tears were pouring from her eyes. Entre los creyentes del árbol blanco estaba Clara Smith, que cumpliría 90 años en unos meses.
