<div class="text-justify">This week in Splinterlands... has been a bit slow in terms of news so I decided to share a battle instead. Since the "Share Your Battle Challenge" as we knew it has been suspended, I'll just got ahead and continue doing it from time to time as a part of the weekly Social Media Challenge.</div>

The Monster I'll showcase today is probably my current most favorite dragon, namely Agor Longtail. Before getting into stats and the battle itself let's have a look at its [LORE](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=492&gold=false&edition=8&tab=lore) first.
<div class="text-justify">So, Agor is a "she" and she's actually really large and wise. Her current status seems to be "really pissed of at the Chaos Legion" </div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tvW8wv3ho3QHmfKTfWoz3NwrjK9uei1VnFfLrmdvP86PNEvUFsSB1mB9ekeG8zjwkny.png)
        <div class="text-justify"> Alright, we've got some idea of what **Agor Longtail** is, after glancing at her lore. Let us have a look at its stats and abilities at different key levels now.</div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23vho3NhzDp5wJ33kkWMNGGZ94NaoZU7F7WGUoGcxtXRFnWANfyV3Y1bQV3pzB9EquRfj.png)

- Having in mind that it is a Legendary Monster, it is expected for it to start with at least 2 special abilities but in this case the Agor Longtail starts with 3. It has Flying, Taunt and Void Armor. All 3 are very useful as far as tanking is concerned. One more interesting fact which also makes the Monster even more powerful is that it actually has 2 types of attack - Melee and Magic. This means it can also be used at the back of the line-up and still attack or at the off-tank position, for instance.
- At **level 2** it gains 2 additional points in the Health department going from 11 to 13.
- At **level 3** it gains a 4th ability - Heal. Heal is probably as good of a tanking ability as it can get since not having to rely on external healing is really important in a lot of situations.
- Finally maxed out at **level 4** the Monster has 3 Melee Attack, 3 Magic Attack, 3 Speed, 6 Armor and 14 Health.

Now that we know what the card does (or doesn't do) at the different levels of play, let us have a look at the battle I have chosen to showcase.

<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>[BATTLE](https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sm_2pY0VOBmeIlKS1mrseHI)<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>
- The line-up of the Battle and the Ruleset:

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/EobzjvBx26Kj6Rpnno1sZ5eiQNqWix2rpiooZsenCB6ZM7yQZm4KHM96GVUYm5uRLsz.png)

<div class="text-justify">The rulesets for this battle are Weak Magic (Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health) and Equal Opportunity (All Monsters have the Opportunity ability). The mana budget is 51 which is above average so I splurge a bit more but I definitely cannot go all out with my choice of Monsters, so a bit more careful planning will be involved in this case. The available Splinters are just Water, Life, Death and Dragon. I will go with Dragon and Water as the supporting Splinter.

</div>

<div class="text-justify"> First in the line-up is the Void Dragon. It is very well-known for its evasiveness. It is also very resilient to Magic Damage thanks to its Void (Reduced damage from Magic attacks) ability, so if it happens to be the last Monster alive and face off against a Magic attacker, my bets are on it.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

</div>

<div class="text-justify"> Following immediately after the Void Dragon is Oshuur Constantia. I've got her here to support my front line Monster as long as possible. She can also take a hit or two if it gets to that, while healing herself in the meantime. What's important is that she has the Reflection Shield (This Monster doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire) ability so she does not suffer any damage when her Magic Attacks are reflected back to her, and, of course, her signature ability Resurrect (when a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle).</div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

</div>

<div class="text-justify">The 3rd spot in the line-up is for the Angelic Mandarin. It has Triage (heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage) and Silence (reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Monsters). Triage could be huge for healing the backline, and Silence is also great whenever you expect you opponent to play Magic attackers.</div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

</div>

<div class="text-justify"> The 4th spot goes to River Hellondale. He's one of the better Chaos Legion legendaries for the Water Splinter, and I actually like him a lot. His kit consists of Resurrect, Inspire (gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack) and Dispel (when this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy). His Resurrect can definitely come handy for Agor Longtail. </div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

</div>

<div class="text-justify">The 5th spot goes to the Sea Stalker. It is a Rift Watcher Monster I actually use quite often even though I have not managed to get it leveled yet. It has a pretty strong punch with its 5 Ranged Attack, and Snipe (targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position) plus Camouflage (this Monster cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position) definitely make it an even better candidate for a lot of different line-ups. </div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

</div>

<div class="text-justify">Last in the line-up is the main protagonist - Agor Longtail. She is a great taunt Monster and a definite must-play, in my humble opinion, when the mana cap can accommodate her. It has Flying, Taunt, Void Armor and Heal. Basically it is a perfectly well-rounded tank. No wonder its mana cost is so high.</div>

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tSNJFa6L78LJJf2P2RL9h52SDkFoCsqRg2Lto58XKNWjXcSGxLfpw8qrcnXWHx1azd6.png)

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

- The Summoner I am going with for the battle is my usual 2nd Summoner of choice when it comes to the Dragon Splinter, and one that I have only recently managed to max out - Lili Shieldpaw. The battle itself is in a currently ongoing Gold-level Tourney and my opponent has chosen to go with a level 6 Kelya. I chose to go with Lily in combination with Agor Longtail for a few reasons in this particular battle actually. First of all, Agor Longtail has Taunt, so this means that all enemy "opportunity" efforts will have to be directed to Agor. That's great for me as I have 2 Resurrects + 2 Triages at my disposal, and Agor also has a self-heal in addition to all that, so if everything goes well, the enemy will have a really hard time getting her down for good. Even if they manage to do that, Lily provides Camouflage to all my Monsters, so just my Tank is targetable by Opportunity so that definitely gives me an edge, since meanwhile all my Monsters will be killing off the lowest health enemies one by one. Let's see how it goes.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tvD1anVhjVRDrhdiw1p28MMzBfiCFYdK77eEJn8xQz6z2btjn8ppaYQe1FrriDgYYUq.png)

- After 1 round of exchanging blows my Agor Longtail is still alive and well, and the enemy Cruel Sethropod is on the verge of dying. The enemy has quite a lot of damage with the two Doublestrike Monsters they have brought to the battle, and Legionnaire Alvar with his Giantkiller ability.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/EoAUVbRDXbVAYQpUD3zXxk4oyx3eKpSTX4PdussTCC9CiUsqkiVjkKQpDXbn3ngzSUY.png)

- Round 3 begins and I actually lost Agor during Round 2 but she was quickly brought back to life and healed up. On the other hand my opponents has lost their Cruel Sethropod and Axemaster. The Axemaster was a large part of their damage, so I won't think Agor will have any issues surviving from this point on.

- Round 4 - my team is completely healed up, and they are working hard on getting Legionnaire Alvar out of commission.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/Eo6DdNDYZuZAusA4vW6YP4khMVMgUdjaNvQhyR5euuZbQ8L6hHAo1TxNErFJjSaw1dV.png)

- Round 5 - Alvar is down, the merciless pounding continues..

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tRzWMA4tHHsw6t6e1c9F7ZRQ42sryZebGZ4JzNgRgod8iHad94Ag6da3r2UGManQNqB.png)

- Round 6 - the Deeplurker has also been taken down.

- Round 7 - the only thing left for my team is to finish off the remaining enemy Monsters. It was a relatively easy win for my team this time around.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/Eo6DCvVkjNxPLFDgVU4k9JrmWkzAdBKwsMdpqUyL5D5nZ12vV535KnrQ9nk2FVtjivs.png)

- My victory seemed certain throughout the battle, but [Splintertools.io](https://splintertools.io/) shows that I had a ***93% chance*** to win, so I had about 1 in 10 chance to lose this.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ghostlybg/23tvXfCpUCgTc8naWJ7oX9rYFuvz2AcMA8BhqLysrcJkQNquH8peP4b8cEtHe6jstwvDm.png)

**Agor Longtail** is a great taunt Monster for the Dragon Splinter. It comes a probably still a bit inflated price of $25 per BCX. I actually sold my level 2 Couerl Lurker some time ago to fund my level 3 Agor. I don't think I made a mistake.

Over and Out,
