I just address my public explanation about "copyright infringement" to all Steemians here! Yesterday I posted a wonderful fairy-tale "The land down the well" written by the great Steemian @tinypaleokitchen with my Chinese translation, unfortunately I was told that it was a blatant "copyright infringement". My blog is also flagged. I must say that I am really a little shocked, because I didn't expect it could be such a serious thing in Steemit. So I feel it necessary and meaningful for me to have a public explanation about "copyright infringement". Of course, I understand how the authors, professional or not professional, cherish their works very much. I respect the original work incomparably. Thank you for your telling me about "international copyright law" so much. Without your authority/permission in advance, any form/translation here is unacceptable. I am really ignorant about it. Pardon me, People from different countries have different cultural backgrounds and taboos, I have learned my lesson now. Please believe, if I knew my action was against your law and culture, I really should have asked for your permission in advance. Forgive my ignorance and carelessness! It reminds me of my late American husband. When he was in China, he hated those Chinese took his photo without telling him very much. But once someone came to him, asking him to take a group photo, he always agreed friendly. It is really due to different cultural background. For most of Chinese, they never feel it is rude or even illegal to take a photo of stranger without asking for permission. In fact, most of Chinese from small city and countryside have no chance to see any foreigner in reality in their lifetime. They are so excited to see a real foreigner whom they can only watch on TV as usual. For me, I really didn't realize that Steemit is a strict platform at the beginning, since I always feel people can cite/forward any blog/content freely online. I sincerely apologize to you for my improper behavior again. I really love your story-- beautiful language with beautiful writing style, I must say I feel so familiar and close to such kind of writing style, it is similar to the ancient Chinese 章回体 novel, (I don't know how to translate 章回体 into English.) In 章回体 novel, the author loves to insert short poems named 绝句(a poem of 4 lines, each line containing 5 or 7 Chinese characters, with a strict tonal pattern and rhyme scheme) like your adding Japanese haiku (a poem of 3 lines) in the content. So I can't help trying to share it in Chinese language delightedly. I want you to know I always respect you and your work so much! I wish we can learn and understand each other better! Best regards!
