Choosing a favorite animal and what animal you would like to be if you had the chance to become one is the subject of an intriguing yet difficult contest in the hive learners community. To be honest, I've been debating which animals to pick because each one has distinctive qualities that make you want to pick more than one animal. However, after doing research on the traits of several animals, I've decided that the eagle is both my choice and my favorite because I find its characteristics relatable and appealing. **Why I choose the eagle** [source](https://unsplash.com/photos/NoZ8-23s-RI) 1 **Their keen vision** The eagle is renowned for having keen vision, which allows it to spot an object from great heights, it can be flying in a very high altitude and still spot a prey on land. I'll compare this trait to my ability to not get caught up in the present situation because I'm constantly thinking about how to improve the future. I set attainable goals for the future because I see and believe in a better future for my self and those around me. 2 **Eagles are fearless** [source](https://unsplash.com/photos/pB2pOioVAhY) I've seen a documentary where an eagle fights a goat that is larger than it is, and what would have given it that strength is the absence of fear. Oh my, I've faced issues in my life that we're so difficult that I thought they will weigh me down, but with determination and God's grace, I'm still here standing strong and overcoming more. 3 **Child care** [source](https://unsplash.com/photos/ir8t-dLguRE) Eagles raise their young with compassion and bravery. After a few weeks of raising them, they are carried high on their backs then they fly high and drop the eagles, so they could learn to fly themselves, this process is done relentlessly. Using these techniques, they teach their young to be brave, grow strong, and survive. Since life is difficult, it is best to raise your children to be strong and brave. I myself am a mother, and I take great care to nurture and teach my children to be brave. 4 **Eagles are Tenacious** They take on challenges and use them to their advantage. For example, when faced with a storm, where other birds would flee, they would usually face the storm head-on and soar higher to a greater altitude. This very trait should be imitated; rather than giving up when faced with a challenge, it is better to face it, move past it, and, if possible, use it as a stepping stone to a greater height. 5 **An eagle doesn't fly low** It's hard to see an Eagle on land, I've never seen one on land except when they stoop to pick up a prey, they instead prefer high mountain, cliffs, tall tress, this very act can make them be classified as royalties among the birds, coming from an humble background, I don't let that limit me, whatever I do, I always aim for the best, I also have a phobia for staying beneath, doesn't suit me at all, i'll rather not be a part than be beneath. 6 **Do you know an Eagle doesn't scavenge** Meaning they don't eat dead meat, they will rather hunt and feed of fresh meat. This shows how hardworking they will have to be at all times, and yes, I'm a very hardworking lady, like an eagle, I don't settle for less, I want the best out of life. *This post is in response to the hive learners contest week 48, edition 2.* **`Thank you for reading๐๐.`**
