Reflection from the book of Acts

Acts 9:20-31

**Word for Today:**
>*After a while some of the Jews plotted together to kill him. So during the night, some of the other believers lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the city wall. vv23&25*

It is a common thing in our context to see converts from other faiths being persecuted and threatened for embracing the gospel. Some often lose their lives; others their properties and all they have ever earned while others due to pressure give up on the way.

Saul, who encountered Christ on his way to Damascus has begun to preach the gospel powerfully in Damascus, but his life was on the line. Some Jews who are Judaist plotted to kill Saul both in Damascus and in Jerusalem vv23-24&29. 

The believers both in Damascus and Jerusalem prayed, cared, encouraged and helped Paul to escape the enemys plot of killing him vv25&30.

As a believer, when last did you pray for new converts from the other faith whose lives are in constant danger? 

How are you helping new converts in your Church or Ministry escape the schemes of the devil to draw them back to his bondage? 

Dont just pray for them alone, show them love, care, and encourage and help them escape the devils trap to pull them down. 

**Prayer:**
*Father, help me to consciously identify and deliberately pray and help new converts to stand strong in the Lord.*
