*Happy birds* So the first person to offer help was Cindy. She said she could help me move this pen this morning. I wanted to get started early, so the birds wouldn’t get too hot, nor myself or Cindy, if it did turn hot. So we were out there by 6:30AM. *Cindy moving equipment into the new pen area* The easy part was all the on the ground stuff. But when it came to taking down the Circus Tent, things got challenging. My balance isn’t great and working over my head is bad. So Cindy, who is a bit shorter than I am, said she’d try. I was able to hold the ladder and the pole for this part of the airs above the ground, and she got the wires off. We got the pen itself moved, and it was time to put the ropes back up. She had a favorite stick in her truck, so she went and got it. But it was not up to the job. She tried a couple things but no dice. The ropes were too heavy and she was too short. So I climbed up to try. I would hold the end up and she would tell me to move it this way or that, as I could not look up to see what I was doing. I got the first one on. Now it was more challenging, because that section was trying to pull the post over. It was REALLY hard getting the second wire on, but it did stabilize the pole, as they were from opposite sides of the pen. I was too tired and dizzy to do any more, so Cindy climbed back up. Somehow, neither of us could figure how, it seemed much easier for her this time, and she got both of them on in a short bit of time. We won! *Me coming back from the last trip out to the pen, note fashionable pen moving attire…* In the end, having to figure workarounds and give explanations, a 1 hour job took 3 hours, but it was done and done well. She also took down the piggy dripper the pigs had destroyed, while I was mixing up the duster for the broilers. She is really fascinated with how we have configured things here on the farm and as she left, she darted back, stuck her head in the back door, and said “It’s really wonderful!” and left. I had another person coming at 1 PM to help me load the dehydrators. I’d decided to do dill, thyme, and lemon verbena. We sat and talked about herbs, and tinctures, and deer hunting, and the effect good food had on our health. I showed her how to use the jar sealer. She had one and never used it. She’s done a lot of dehydrating, but was having trouble with things getting damp again… *Shorn lemon verbena* *Shorn thyme* *Shorn dill* She did the dill and I did the thyme and lemon verbena and we got it done by 4PM. I am real tired, but we did accomplish a lot today. And my husband didn’t do any chores….
https://s15.postimg.cc/85oxjqy97/ghscollective_logo-01-1.png

Join Us on Discord. https://discord.gg/hPJs5Rb
