Anon (film) : A confusing and sadly, boring mess
For sci-fi fans, the idea of a film about a somewhat dystopian future with a big budget and a couple of A-list actors sounds like a dream come true. Unfortunately, this film is, for lack of a better word, quite uneventful.

Although they do not specify the year, it is indicated that this is the future of some sort and authorities have developed a technology where all people are "chipped" and their every move is recorded into a massive, secure database that is simply referred to as the "Ether." All crime can be easily solved because there isn't any way to fully conceal any sort of activity since all the eyes involved are constantly recording. Only the authorities have access to this database and the agents are capable of pulling down data on anyone and everyone at all times.

Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) is a detective who is charged with solving a string of murders that seem to have all been executed by the same person who has somehow been capable of hacking the "Ether" to modify the footage so that said person is not in the scenes at all. Imagine that? A secure network that gets hacked, whoda thunk it?

There is a lot of nudity in this film, and I can't help but feel as though this was included to keep people interested because of the fact that the story itself is actually pretty tough to follow and well, it doesn't really matter because it is pretty evident based solely on the movie poster, who this "unknown perpetrator" might be.

Of course Amanda Seyfried gets Oliver Clothesoff in the film as well, which might have been a big draw for some people. I certainly think she is good-looking but I don't really feel as though that is enough to pull this film through, which resulted in me picking up my phone to Partiko on a regular basis.

rumor has it that it was Amanda's demand that she have her top on in this scene (although she is topless in a lot of the other scenes) because she was unhappy with how her boobies looked. I don't think Clive complained too much about the re-shoot </center>

The movie is very dark, featuring little to no color of any sort and I suppose that adds to the dreary presentation of what the Orwellian future could potentially hold.

Don't let this trailer fool you, other than the copious amounts of nudity that had me closing the curtains of my house so as to not give my neighbors the wrong idea about what i was watching, is rather uneventful or so convoluted that it becomes difficult to follow at all.

Anon seems very much like a full-length version of an episode of Black Mirror only significantly more complicated - and not in a good way. The hot women taking their clothes off is quite obviously a tactic to keep you watching also. For the most part, since we all have the internet, you can see that stuff without trudging through this tedious and rather boring film.

My analysis? Watch Black Mirror instead.
