Slasher (Netflix Series): it's got some gore-fun, but mostly pretty bad
Slasher does exactly what the name suggests that it might. It is a gory bloodbath of a drama series. It is based out of Canada and of course there is nothing wrong with that either. However, I don't really feel that this series has any sort of long-standing appeal.

So the story is that there are a bunch of adults that have a dark past together kind of like an "I Know what you did last summer" kind of way. The group is re-united because they need to go back out the the original scene of the crime in order to cover their tracks from potentially being caught.

I think for me the problem that I have with this series is not the gore because I love that sort of thing. I think the reason why I don't like it is because once again, the situations are drawn out entirely too long, presumably because there isn't much of a story there. They keep flashing back and forth to their original time as camp counselors to the current day reunion where they are back revisiting where the "bad stuff" originally happened.

For those of you out there that remember the original Friday the 13th stuff, that is basically what this is borrowing from but without showing you the killer they way that we all knew who Jason Vorhees was. It is meant to be scary but it simply isn't (at least for me.) They get knocked off one-by-one and the entire time we (the audience) are left in the dark regarding who the actual killer that is tormenting them is.

I think that this show could be ok for the right person but that person just isn't me. Therefore, if you are a fan of the old-school type of "slasher" movies then this might be a fun trip down memory lane. However, i don't feel as though this genre really needed a revisit because there was a reason why it died out in the first place. I can't think of the type of person that would binge watch this because it is basically just a season-long version of "guess who is going to get brutally killed next!" that takes 10 hours instead of 90 minutes.

on a scale of "Urgh!" to "Wowsers!" I give Slasher the rating of ....
