The Health Risks of Always Being “Busy”

<div class="text-justify">

We live in a world whereby everyone actually have so much to attend to because there is a whole lot of responsibility and demands from everywhere. In fact, it seems the most of the pressure is coming from the society because it actually looks like everyone wants to prove a point.

Some of us want to prove a point to our families, friends, or even ourselves. In a bid to be successful and not to be label as a failure, many of us have become so much busy. Society has actually made us think being busy is just the norm and might not have the health implications but well I have come to see that it is true.

At the expense of going after productivity, most of the time we work and work and becomes so busy that it begins to affect our physical health and even our mental health. In fact nowadays, been busy seems to be a slang everyone want to say to prove that they have a value. But I have come to discover that been busy every time can affect our wellbeing. From my own experience few days ago, I have discovered when you are too busy attending to a whole lot of task, you can wake up having mental and emotional burnout. Most of the time, we push ourselves much more to the extreme.

I have also come to diabetes that when you are so much in between a lot of tasks at the same time, it can disturb your mind. You can even be suffering from all these fear of failure or even low self confidence because of the numerous tasks you have at hand. All of these things if not properly managed can actually lead to what I will say stress. Chronic stress sometimes. One thing I know about stress is that it accumulates to your body and when it wants to display at once, it will be so emotionally demanding.

Even it also have it's own physical consequences. You will notice that when you are too busy that you did not have time for yourself, you will start noticing weight gain, high blood pressure and generally bad mood. Most of the time, in a bid to attend to those multiple tasks that we have on ground, we deny ourselves sleep and which can lead to huge cardiovascular problems. In fact, many of us find it hard to take good food all at the expense of we are always busy and busy.

Not only that, apart from the health effects it can have, when we are so much busy, we even hardly have time to spend with people around us, probably our love ones and much more. This can lead us to have strained relationships and isolation and at the end of the day can really be so different for many of us to actually recover from it. I have seen people isolate themselves because they didn't have time for people and this affects them psychologically.

Now this is where the balance comes in, I am not saying you should be lazy. All what I am just trying to say is as you are attending to those tasks on your table, did not do it at the expense of your health. Health is wealth. No amount of success or money can actually replace your health. In as much as you working, have time for yourself. Sleep when you need to sleep, eat quality food, take some break from work sometimes to associate with wonderful people around you. By doing so, you will live a balanced life.
