<div class="text-justify"> Goals are great tools that guide our actions and help us work towards a target as opposed to doing tasks randomly. Some goals are simple while some are complex but once a goal is SMART, it usually becomes easily achievable. By SMART I mean, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound. At the beginning of the year, I made some goals which can be broadly divided into online and offline. I will dwell on the online aspect because I made it specifically with regards to Hive. My online goal was to make a post everyday of the year and achieve the yearly badge. I knew it was not going to be easy for several reasons but I was willing to give it my best shot. The first week of January saw me struggling but I achieved the weekly badge and soon enough I had gotten a rhythm to my writing that it became like second nature, almost like a muscle memory. I would decide to write and within a short while, everything will come together in my head and I will have a post ready. I was able to maintain my streak and by the end of January, I received my first monthly badge. It was an encouragement to do more, a motivation to strive towards the greater goal, the yearly badge. I was able to replicate the feat by February as I received my second monthly badge and I was willing to continue on my path to the yearly badge as it was seeming possible day by day. Then, one day, a lot happened leading to not just physical exhaustion but mental and emotional fatigue. I was drained completely with little left to give. I wanted to continue my streak and so I opened my note pad and began to write. It was already about 11 pm and I was just trying to pen something down. Exhaustion got the better of me and I decided to take a little rest. Imagine resting with less than an hour to go, lol. Long story short, I woke up around 1.20 am, my streak gone, my goals shattered and anger overwhelmed me. I had to talk myself into not overthinking it and I calmed down. Over the next few couple of days, I would try to regain my streak but the mental and emotional fatigue was still present and gradually, writing began to look like a herculean task again. Well that's it for my online goals. As for the offline goals, they are still on track even though they keep getting more and more difficult but I know that before the year runs out, I will likely achieve them. The thing about goals is that if you follow your plans strictly, even if you fall short of your goals, you will definitely be close. So I know that despite missing out on some of my targets, I would not be so far off from my initial plans. So far so good. </div> - <center>*Yo, Bye for now, till I pick my ~~pen~~ phone again*</center> **** *All images are mine*
