##   Cloud Nothings  - *Sight Unseen*

## Since I've shared quite a few
classic bands over the last few weeks, I figured we're overdue for something more modern.  **Cloud Nothings** are a rock band, formed in 2009 in Cleveland, OH.  The band started as a solo project for singer/songwriter Dylan Baldi, with very poppy, indie sort of songs, but over the years, they've become a four piece, and their sound has shifted quite a bit.  The 2012 album ***Attack on Memory*** showed the band going in a much darker, more post-hardcore sort of direction, though the albums afterwards have been quite different too, somewhere between post-hardcore, indie and emo.  Baldi is particularly good at writing catchy, melodic parts that make each song and album memorable in their own unique way.

## This song is from the band's
2017 album, ***Life Without Sound***.  This album showed the band utilizing more interesting tones and layers than the previous ***Here And Nowhere Else***, which was a very stripped down record.  This song has a beautiful chorus, and, although the basic chord progression is a relatively straight-forward rock riff, Baldi's melody writing brings things together nicely.  There is also a surfy sort of element to the guitar tones on this release, which add some interesting, reverb-laden textures to the songs.  The album also did decently well on some Billboard charts, specifically hitting #5 on the 'Vinyl' chart, and  #15 on the 'Independent Albums' chart.
