## This is the VERY beggining of a song,
which I began last night in Logic. I'm taking the portions of it I like, and finishing it in Ableton, though I figured I'd start with the first mapping here, and do a little daily series as the song evolves. There are 2 parts so far, one of which *absolutely* rules, and will be the basis for the rest of the tune, the other is... meh. I don't like it, and it doesn't work with the vibe at all, feels a bit wonky and lame. In the screenshot above, the GREEN sections are what will be in a finalized version, while the GREY are what will be excised and replaced.

## Thus far, in the GREEN section,
there are only 3 tracks, but the synths used are pretty thick and work really nicely. There's a bass line (Track 1), which just sticks to C's mostly, then up to an Ab, and down to G and Eb, before repeating (we're in Cminor). Track 2 provides the arpeggios in the background, which play the chords pictured below. Finally, we have Track 5, which adds another rhythmic synth that begins as a sort high, squealy thing, but builds into a more distorted timbre.

## The GREY parts have been removed
in the version of this I imported into Ableton, and I've just been jamming around the other stuff, trying to see what works and what doesn't. I am thinking that maybe there won't be any actual drums, but rather some rhythmic sounds, maybe more rhythmic synths, with a sort of floaty, ambient nature, which will keep it from feeling to rigid and regimented (I hope). We'll see what happens for the next few days.
