## Simon & Garfunkel - *So Long Frank Lloyd Wright*

## I know I've shared
a number of both solo Paul Simon and Simon & Garfunkel tunes recently, but I began to learn the guitar for this tune today so I had to share it. Paul Simon really became an incredible musician over the course of his career, and when he began studying theory, his compositions became much more intricate; I think this is a good example of his evolution, as it really stands out from all of their other songs on the album and their discography more generally.

## This song first appeared
on their 1970 album ***Bridge Over Troubled Water***. The other songs around are all interesting, but this one really stands out. The sort of bossanova/latin jazz feeling is amazing, and the chord progression is SO interesting. I think Simon was attempting to use as many of the 12 notes as possible without getting extremely dissonant, which he accomplished (whether or not intentional). The melody they sing over it is equally complex and yet it still is incredibly beautiful.

## Enjoy today's song! Thanks for checking out my blog, and Steem On!
