Ever since the pandemic happened, working from home has been the better option to keep us all safe. In an instant, companies, public or private, adjust to the big changes and start giving instructions to their employees for a work at home setup. Some companies provided a laptop and desktop to their employees. Here in my country, lots of companies provide their employees a work from home set up and internet connection. Everyone has been proactive just to survive the business. Some business are not capable of doing it and no option but to close the business temporarily. At present, most of them are getting back to business after a long hiatus. 

Earlier, it was hard for me to commute. I only ride a public utility jeepney going to work and I stayed for an hour waiting for another vehicle to arrive. During pandemic, while everyone is at home, there are available jeepneys, although very small in numbers. I don't have problems with commuting. That is why I come up with this blog topic and I know most of you could agree. These are my ten reason why I love working at home. 

**No traffic**
When everyone is at home, for sure there are less people in the street. When it is weekdays, and everyone is at home, working, there is no busy streets. There are less vehicles. There are less hassles and you can only see few people walking. At present, it is always hard. Heavy traffic is exhausting and it happens everyday.

**No queing, no lining up**
Did you happen to see the queuing of people lining up in MRT at Ortigas. I don't have a picture but it was long. I assume everyone will get home after two to three hours even though MRT can speed up their journey. The lining up itself will makes the people burnout that they are standing and waiting for longer hours. Even at other establishments, I remember going to BGC but it took us an hour before we park our car. There were lots of people there, it is so exhausting.

**No waking up two hours before going to work**
I wake up at 7 in the morning for 9 am work at the office. My preparation for myself is one hour and my journey to work is one hour too. When I was working home before, I will wake up 30 minutes before my work starts. It is not a problem if I haven't wash up or eaten my breakfast. I can start working even though I look worst.

**Working in comfortable clothing**
Working at home means you are wearing your comfortable home clothes. Mostly my comfortable clothes are shirt and short. I don't need to prepare my clothes. I even don't need to buy new clothes because I seldom go out. It is a big savings for me not buying new clothes.

**I can do other things besides my work**
It is not advisable to do some things while working. Even though you are at home, your employer is expecting your performance to be at best, however, one cannot avoid other things to do, in fact at home, we can do multitasking. When I was working at home before, while doing my job, I was cooking. Sometimes I clean the house and wash the dishes. I even prepare foods for my pets. I only do that if I am not that busy. It is not cheating because I make sure I do my job first. I have no choice because I am inside  my home, I will still do some chores. Time is gold for me. 



**It is easy to save money**
This is what I observed when I was working at home before. I can save money that supposed to be my transportation allowance. I also save money because it avoids me to buy some snacks as I am at home, I will just eat what food is available at home.

**It is more safe and comfortable at home than outside**
For me, my comfort place is definitely at home. My work is stressful at home and at the office because nothing change, but I can scream when I get stress at home, than in the office. I can tell my opinion freely and I can say what I want. I can get mad at anyone without them knowing. I am comfortable with that kind of set up. It is safer too because I am isolated with different kinds of people I will meet outside.

**Mothers or parents can help their children in their online class**
Not me as I never become a parent. I am still single. I observed my sister who has a son and she is exhausted when she went home after work that she needs to teach his son, review his lesson and  help in answering the assignment. When she was in a work from home set up, she can support her son while doing her job. I don't know how she do that but my sister's forte is multitasking that is why it become successful on her. Now she is having a hard time and I help her in teaching her son instead.

**No Face Mask**
If you are inside your home, there is no need to wear face mask, unless you do have symptoms you should isolate yourself. I am obligated to wear mask outside even though the government announced that it is now voluntary. I wear it because I still want to protect myself and my family. 

I cannot blame other companies for requiring everyone to come back to office because some of them are only renting their office and some needs their offices to be occupied. Of course money is still the reason why they need to come back. Also, some employers prefer working proactively at the office because some are doing physical jobs and requires documents to be printed. Working from home is not all suitable to some business. 

Moreover, if they will ask my opinion, if some of the employer can allow their employees to work from home, I hope they do it, because the road and streets is not only busy but congested. There are lots of people on the road. It is not healthy and it drains the energy of everyone. If we all wants to be protected and safe for all kinds of sickness, we should also exercise safety and one of the best is working at home.
