It's an abstract concept that can't be stopped, ...
... reversed, physically touched or seen by the naked eye. Even though the very existence of time is a question for the philosophers, it controls every decision we make. The more time we experience in this life the harder it is to enjoy and appreciate it. I've been doing my best to think of the last book I sat down to simply read and enjoy. Confession, I can't remember. They say to live each day as if it's your last. I've always liked that phrase but there's still something wanting in that outlook. If there was no tomorrow, yes we'd do everything we could to desperately spend our last hours as recklessly and blissfully as we could, doing exactly what we wanted. However, it would still be shadowed by the knowledge of it's end. What if we instead lived each day as if there WAS NO last, as if each moment was ours and ours alone. If we had as much time as we wanted, to learn, to experience, to make mistakes, to love, how differently would we spend each day? We would no longer feel pressured to make decisions for ourselves and settle for less than everything we wanted. We'd feel more freedom to enjoy the small things like watching sunsets and being with family and friends. We'd travel, find more time for kindness, and for those of us that love getting lost in pages, we'd read. Reading is a passion that I think a lot of us see as a luxury we don't have the time for and I really want to change that, at least for myself. I'm going to set a few reading goals in the coming year and not even just for the pleasure of a good book, but also as a little rebellious act against the influence of time in my life. I'd love your suggestions and thoughts. What books do you find yourself going back to again and again? Let me know in the comments.<br/><br/>[](https://appics.com/referenced.html?ref=steemit.com&type=image&id=42407&url=https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/appics-content/961deef16b867bd985077925800da3b2-640&caption=Time.%20We%20all%20take%20it%20for%20granted.%20%0A%0AIt's%20an%20abstract%20concept%20that%20can't%20be%20stopped,%20reversed,%20physically%20touched%20or%20seen%20by%20the%20naked%20eye.%20Even%20though%20the%20very%20existence%20of%20time%20is%20a%20question%20for%20the%20philosophers,%20it%20controls%20every%20decision%20we%20make.%20The%20more%20time%20we%20experience%20in%20this%20life%20the%20harder%20it%20is%20to%20enjoy%20and%20appreciate%20it.%20I've%20been%20doing%20my%20best%20to%20think%20of%20the%20last%20book%20I%20sat%20down%20to%20simply%20read%20and%20enjoy.%20Confession,%20I%20can't%20remember.%20%0A%0AThey%20say%20to%20live%20each%20day%20as%20if%20it's%20your%20last.%20I've%20always%20liked%20that%20phrase%20but%20there's%20still%20something%20wanting%20in%20that%20outlook.%20If%20there%20was%20no%20tomorrow,%20yes%20we'd%20do%20everything%20we%20could%20to%20desperately%20spend%20our%20last%20hours%20as%20recklessly%20and%20blissfully%20as%20we%20could,%20doing%20exactly%20what%20we%20wanted.%20However,%20it%20would%20still%20be%20shadowed%20by%20the%20knowledge%20of%20it's%20end.%20What%20if%20we%20instead%20lived%20each%20day%20as%20if%20there%20WAS%20NO%20last,%20as%20if%20each%20moment%20was%20ours%20and%20ours%20alone.%20If%20we%20had%20as%20much%20time%20as%20we%20wanted,%20to%20learn,%20to%20experience,%20to%20make%20mistakes,%20to%20love,%20how%20differently%20would%20we%20spend%20each%20day?%20We%20would%20no%20longer%20feel%20pressured%20to%20make%20decisions%20for%20ourselves%20and%20settle%20for%20less%20than%20everything%20we%20wanted.%20We'd%20feel%20more%20freedom%20to%20enjoy%20the%20small%20things%20like%20watching%20sunsets%20and%20being%20with%20family%20and%20friends.%20We'd%20travel,%20find%20more%20time%20for%20kindness,%20and%20for%20those%20of%20us%20that%20love%20getting%20lost%20in%20pages,%20we'd%20read.%0A%0AReading%20is%20a%20passion%20that%20I%20think%20a%20lot%20of%20us%20see%20as%20a%20luxury%20we%20don't%20have%20the%20time%20for%20and%20I%20really%20want%20to%20change%20that,%20at%20least%20for%20myself.%20I'm%20going%20to%20set%20a%20few%20reading%20goals%20in%20the%20coming%20year%20and%20not%20even%20just%20for%20the%20pleasure%20of%20a%20good%20book,%20but%20also%20as%20a%20little%20rebellious%20act%20against%20the%20influence%20of%20time%20in%20my%20life.%20I'd%20love%20your%20suggestions%20and%20thoughts.%20What%20books%20do%20you%20find%20yourself%20going%20back%20to%20again%20and%20again?%20Let%20me%20know%20in%20the%20comments.&category=wisdom&hashtags=blog+life+photography+lifestyle&author=gringalicious&profileImageUrl=https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/appics-content/profileImages/868-1546662941439-640&permlink=appics-v1-appics-im-42407)<br/><br/>[](https://appics.com/referenced.html?ref=steemit.com&type=image&id=42407&url=https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/appics-content/961deef16b867bd985077925800da3b2-640&caption=Time.%20We%20all%20take%20it%20for%20granted.%20%0A%0AIt's%20an%20abstract%20concept%20that%20can't%20be%20stopped,%20reversed,%20physically%20touched%20or%20seen%20by%20the%20naked%20eye.%20Even%20though%20the%20very%20existence%20of%20time%20is%20a%20question%20for%20the%20philosophers,%20it%20controls%20every%20decision%20we%20make.%20The%20more%20time%20we%20experience%20in%20this%20life%20the%20harder%20it%20is%20to%20enjoy%20and%20appreciate%20it.%20I've%20been%20doing%20my%20best%20to%20think%20of%20the%20last%20book%20I%20sat%20down%20to%20simply%20read%20and%20enjoy.%20Confession,%20I%20can't%20remember.%20%0A%0AThey%20say%20to%20live%20each%20day%20as%20if%20it's%20your%20last.%20I've%20always%20liked%20that%20phrase%20but%20there's%20still%20something%20wanting%20in%20that%20outlook.%20If%20there%20was%20no%20tomorrow,%20yes%20we'd%20do%20everything%20we%20could%20to%20desperately%20spend%20our%20last%20hours%20as%20recklessly%20and%20blissfully%20as%20we%20could,%20doing%20exactly%20what%20we%20wanted.%20However,%20it%20would%20still%20be%20shadowed%20by%20the%20knowledge%20of%20it's%20end.%20What%20if%20we%20instead%20lived%20each%20day%20as%20if%20there%20WAS%20NO%20last,%20as%20if%20each%20moment%20was%20ours%20and%20ours%20alone.%20If%20we%20had%20as%20much%20time%20as%20we%20wanted,%20to%20learn,%20to%20experience,%20to%20make%20mistakes,%20to%20love,%20how%20differently%20would%20we%20spend%20each%20day?%20We%20would%20no%20longer%20feel%20pressured%20to%20make%20decisions%20for%20ourselves%20and%20settle%20for%20less%20than%20everything%20we%20wanted.%20We'd%20feel%20more%20freedom%20to%20enjoy%20the%20small%20things%20like%20watching%20sunsets%20and%20being%20with%20family%20and%20friends.%20We'd%20travel,%20find%20more%20time%20for%20kindness,%20and%20for%20those%20of%20us%20that%20love%20getting%20lost%20in%20pages,%20w
