# Short squees on the road.

<p>You remember my last post which came out in collaboration with Sylvia 
aka @syllymudafknross. As we met a few weeks ago we also played around with Camera Rotation Light Painting. Here you will see what came of it. Just a few trials to explain how it works.

The topic is scarier when you never tried it. Once you have a little rig set up and you start the rotation it's fun right from the start. Well getting things properly aligned is a different sport. Some of the Light Painters here on Hive know that all too well. 

This is not the theoretical math of Camera Rotation but some simple shots. But it opends the door to more and inspires curiousity.</p>

<p>Ihr erinnert euch an meinen letzten Beitrag, der in Zusammenarbeit mit Sylvia alias @syllymudafknross entstanden ist? Als wir vor ein paar Wochen getroffen hatten, haben wir auch mit Camera Rotation Light Painting herumgespielt. Hier gibt's was da rausgekommen ist.

Das Thema ist beängstigender, wenn Sie es noch nie versucht hat. Wenn man dann erst einmal ein kleines Rig aufgebaut hat und mit der Rotation loslegt, macht sofort Spaß. Nun, die Dinge richtig auszurichten, ist eine andere Sportart. Einige der Lichtmaler hier auf Hive wissen das nur zu gut.

Dies ist nicht die theoretische Mathematik der Kameradrehung, sondern einige einfache Aufnahmen.</p>

## What were the settings?

<p>The featured Light Painting images you see is an 83 (119s next one) seconds-long single-exposure time photographs. The camera was set to ISO 200 and the Laowa 12mm Zero D F2.8 Lens was set to F11.

## What was the process??

<p>You see me here in a two-step Camera Rotation Light Painting while the lens was not covered during the rotation. 

We used here my camera rotation tool as always as you see somewhere below in my explanation. My rotation head has these markers, like Nobbs, that indicate rotating angles. So you can feel when it turned 180°. 

But before that Sylvia would light me up and cast the long shadow first. then I would rotate and light up the second half of the image.

<p>Hier seht Ihr ein paar zweistufiges Camera Rotation Light Paintings, bei denen das Objektiv während der Drehung nicht abgedeckt wurde.

Wie immer hab ich meinen Rotationskopf benutzt. Dieses mal waren die Markierungen auf 180°-Stufe der Drehung eingestellt. So fühlte ich das ich halbwegs sauber auf dem Kopf stehe. 

Aber vorher hat mich Sylvia eingeleuchtet und die schönen langen Schatten eingeleuchtet. Dann habe ich die Kamera, für die zweite Hälfte des Bildes, gedreht und den Rest ausgeleuchtet.

<p>Camera Rotation works how? 

If you come here sometimes you have seen Camera Rotations in many of my posts. Yes, it is just what the name indicates. The camera is being rotated at least some degrees during the exposure, sometimes in steps sometimes in a continuous motion while doing so I also light up the scene.

Wie Ihr in vielen meiner Blogartikel seht ist Kamera Rotations Fotografie genau was der Name schon meint. Die Kamera wird einfach während der Belichtung wenigstens ein paar Grad gedreht und dabei wird das Subjekt ausgeleuchtet.
