Prioritize and Create Time

I’ve been mentioning about the importance of protecting your time many times since writing on Steem, but I haven’t shared that many tips on how to do it, so I think it’s about time. As I said in [this](https://steemit.com/steem/@guyfawkes4-20/the-projects-i-m-involved-in) post, I want to get back on track with my old schedule and work more because in the last couple of days I wasted a bit of time, you can read more in there. I cannot stress this enough, your time is your most important asset, and even if it might feel good to waste your time on meaningless stuff sometimes, you should always spend it on the things that matter.

Prioritization

Since we have so little time on our hands every day sometimes is not enough to finish everything we have on our plate so we might need some prioritization. If you have to make 20 things in one day and you start with the ones that are easier to do you may miss on the ones that are important but a bit harder. https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2017/11/27/07/02/time-2980690_960_720.jpg You should make a list, a real paper list with all the things you have to make so you have them in front of you and you can see them because only then they are becoming real. From there order them starting with the most important ones so if you don’t have more time that day to do the rest of them is not such a big problem because you will only miss on the minor stuff. To be able to do this correctly you have to realize what is valuable to you and what is not so important. You might think that getting into a good college or getting a good job is an essential thing in your life only because some people that you trust told you so, but they are not always right, for you merely breathing may seem more important. You have to be able to differentiate other people’s opinions from yours and put weight only on what you believe in.

Create Time

Even if we might only have twenty-four hours in a day, we can always do some tweaks, so our time is worth more, first time I found out about this concept of creating time I was blown away. If you know that tomorrow is a hectic day, but you want to do more things that may not be important in the short term but crucial in the long run instead of sleeping eight hours wake up one hour earlier so you can do more right in the morning. You have just created 1 hour of time. https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2015/02/26/17/56/clock-650753_960_720.jpg Because lately I sadly don’t have time for personal development, one thing I always love to do is to download all the footage I would like to watch, transform it into an audio file and just drop it on my phone. That way, especially that I have to commute for about two hours, instead of watching those stuff at home I can just listen to them while I’m on the train and this way I’m saving up a lot of time. There are always things you could do while being somewhere or things you could cut so you win a lot of free time that you can invest in the things that truly matter to you. If you decide to follow a particular path you will have to give up on some things that will not serve you on the long term and focus on those that will.

Conclusion

You can make as much money as you want but there’s one thing you can’t have more, and it will always get lesser, and that’s time. You might think that you don’t need to manage your time so tight because you’re not doing so many important things but just the simple fact that you’re here, on Steem, it means that you have a tremendous opportunity in front of you and you should take full advantage of it. https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2014/12/16/22/25/youth-570881_960_720.jpg Even so, you should always focus more on developing yourself, getting better every day because no matter where you’re at in life, there’s always room for growth. At the end of the day it’s all about doing what’s truly important to you and not what’s important to others, and for that you need time. If you don’t take care of your time, no one else will do it for you. *The pictures are from Pixabay: [1](https://pixabay.com/en/time-clock-night-home-office-2980690/), [2](https://pixabay.com/en/clock-time-stand-by-650753/), [3](https://pixabay.com/en/youth-active-jump-happy-sunrise-570881/).*
[](https://steemit.com/@guyfawkes4-20)
