# Hello there! How are you doing with Steemit so far? Is it now the right time to power up?
*I've been here in Steemit for couple of months now and it's been a great experience so far. This place has lots of learning to offer indeed!*

Now, when I was just starting in steemit, I was so skeptical whether this platform could really work. I mean, it's like they're giving free money to people back then because any post can be rewarded even just one single photo with the help of bots. Even now it's possible but of course, things have change. Lots of steemians are unhappy with that so be careful in posting "shit" posts because they can flag you. You don't want that to happen to you do you?

So, let's go with powering up. When is the right time to power up? I guess my answer to that is "It depends on what you need". If you're like most whales here to like long term profit, then powering up should be like everyday or as much and as fast as you can. Powering up can leverage your curation rewards so it's WIN-WIN really in the long run. 

Now, if you're like just starting out and want to collect as much SBD as possible to be used in buying upvotes from bots, then powering down must be an option for you. There are some instances that powering down and converting Steem to SBD can be profitable specially if the price of Steem is higher than the price of SBD.

Be careful with that process though because if you don't calculate it right, you might end up loosing some of the potential rewards that could have been yours. As friendly advice, always be friendly with calculator when you're dealing with income and profit!

# What is the future of Steem as far as I can see?

This is just my theory but I think the future of steem will even be brighter after 2018. We saw a jump in price already for the past 2 years. Steem started really small but in just short period of time, we began to multiply our numbers exponentially from the number of users to active traders of steem and SBD. It's no doubt this steem has a place in top crypto currency in the market!

Since I'm just a man with no super powers, I can't guarantee that what will happen is what I'm thinking right now. Of course, changes will happen and the minds of the developers might adapt to what's necessary at a given time. We can't really say we're guaranteed to have green pasture for the next 20 - 30 years but we can say that we're safe for now.

Right now, steem is very hot in the market. It's very active the potential of steem blockchain is indeed huge. Lots of developments and apps are being produced almost every week or every day. We might not notice but the change in the steem blockchain is becoming really fast. We can't really tell exactly what's gonna happen next which is very exciting!

# How about SBD/ Steem Dollar

The objective of steem dollar if I'm not mistaken is to have a price equal to US dollar. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. It seems that this objective eventually changed because the price of SBD by the time of this writing is around 2 USD or more. 

With this in mind, I think there's a chance that Steem Dollar might go down up to 1 USD value. Again, nothing's certain in this world until what's done is done. We'll just have to wait to see what will happen. Since SBD is cheap right now, and we know that's what we commonly use to purchase upvote from bots, maybe it's a good thing to have lots of it now and take advantage of the fluctuating price.

# The aftermath of 7 days: What's in it for Steemit if we post quality content?

Imagine this platform as Google. When we post in steemit, our post can stay in steem blockchain forever! So basically, every content creator here is giving away precious data to Steemit that they can make more money from in the future.

Remember the time when Facebook was first lunched. Did you see any ads? For what I remembered, I didn't see even one. It's just plane and simple socializing, chatting and sharing photos. It's all fun and simple. Now, what happened next? 

Ads eventually appeared as time passed by due to demands and the quality of data companies can get from people to boost their sales. Users of social media might not be aware but the greatest asset of a social media platform is the data people are writing on it specially the personal ones. That's why everyone should be well aware that internet is such a huge market and anything we post online can be seen by the people managing it behind the screen.

We cannot tell for certain but is it no possible that Steemit will do the same? The only difference is maybe the transactions are being processed through the steem blockchain. I'm pretty sure by now, some huge companies are looking for opportunity to profit from new trend and Steemit is one of them. In summary, posting quality and unique content in steemit can be a WIN-WIN situation for both authors, curators and the platform itself. Let's promote Steemit, Steem, and SBD and we all WIN!
