Fossilized Coal can give power in the form of heat after combustion.  This heat is then used by coal-fired power plants to spin turbines and as a result electricity is produced. Coal  based power plant were famous because coal is most abundant form of non-renewable energy.

<center><h2> Fourth Least Expensive Source of Energy </h2></center>
The cost for producing one MW hour of energy from coal is $100 in america and it is among the top four least expensive forms of energy in America. Hydropower is the least expensive form of energy. Coal is not only at the fourth position but it is also has some disadvantages which are so serious that there is a need to stop burning coal for producing power.

<center><h2> Disadvantages of Using Coal as a Source of Energy </h2> </center>
Excessive carbon dioxide  in our air which is produced as a by product when coal is burnt is damaging our health. Crops are also loosing the amount of nutrients in them because of the excessive carbon dioxide in the air. Acid rain and climate changes are also the results of carbon dioxide emitted from the power plant using coal.
