These past few days have been eventful for me personally, I have learnt a few things on steemit (still learning though) and it gives me much joy to share what I have learnt on an individual level. Without much ado:

When I first found out about steemit, the impression I got was, oh! Another way to make a quick buck (lol), this may sound funny but true, I have come to believe (personal opinion) it is the reason why most minnows sign up as well.

You can make a quick buck on steemit no doubts about that, but I've come to learn you first of all have to realise what you want on the platform, it's not just about posting plagiarized content or resteeming posts because they have huge upvotes.

From my experiences so far, you need to figure out your interests to know who to follow and what your interests are in particular, people you follow determine the type of content you're exposed to and this in turn influences your development. The outcome is that you gradually will also develop content which people can share from and benefit from as well.

Don't beg for upvotes and follows, (it's unbecoming! lol) instead put your time into creating beneficial content which other users can benefit from, I personally follow, upvote, resteem individuals and entities who overtime I have come to realize possess the potential to help me develop both as a person and in my writing through the content they make available themselves.

People tell me, "I don't really get what steemit is all about, it's frustrating!". Well sadly this is true, I agree with them because anything you have not dedicated time and attention to understand how it works and how you can engage with it will always be confusing, boring and pointless (I wish they saw the potential though). What baffles me is when they find it easy to post, share, tag and all they do on Facebook (it's like they're dancing to drums from their village voodoo (lol... Nigerians will understand this).

What I'm saying in essence is if you want to enjoy steemit and derive benefits from it.
1. Be PASSIONATE.
2. Identify your INTERESTS.
3. Create USEFUL content.
4. Follow people you SHARE INTERESTS with.
5. Be open to LEARN NEW THINGS.
6. Be CONFIDENT in your WRITING and IMAGINATION. (NO ONE is PERFECT!)

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU! to everyone I'm following and to those following me as well. Specially to @ogoowinner for being encouraging and insightful in most of what she shares.
@kyriacos for bringing out the philosopher in me (lol).
@dragosroua for the Brainfuck questions, even though I'm still struggling to answer any(lol).

In one way or the other and unknown to you all, you have helped me discover and learn how steemit works, made my time here worth it's while and for that I really am GRATEFUL!
