I realized I have been very blessed that I actually unknowingly have been having Labour Day as my rest and relaxing day for 2 years because class would be cancelled and the husband would be taking care of the boy at home, so I said YES when my university friends asked for a meet-up! We had a hard time deciding where to go but finally we agreed to go to this cafe nearby my friend's house, Bookmark Cafe. Apparently, it is a very well-known and famous cafe because of its latte art. They can basically draw anything you want on your latte. Me being under the radar and knew nothing beforehand, I did not order a latte, which I regret. Anyway, they have two branches, their first outlet is near UCSI, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, to which I went initially. I thought I was early and waited for my friends as I looked through their menu. Then, after 15 minutes, my friends called, then to my dismay, I was at the DIFFERENT branch. Embarrassed and said sorry, I made my way to their newer and bigger branch in Centre Point Medan Connaught. I got lost for about half an hour!!!! Haha, this is precisely why I do not prefer let Levi tag along if I am not too sure of the place and I have to be driving alone. Finally, I arrived and my friends were almost finishing their meals, hahahaha! I ordered this super yummy pasta with smoked duck and bacon. It came with a egg yolk that is runny, oh my! I have a soft spot for runny yolk, but I have to say it blended everything so well together! Besides that, I ordered a durian (Musang King) creme brulee, because I have tasted one of the best in the cafe in my neighbourhood. Theirs was okay, creamy and smooth with durian taste and smell. I ordered just a simple hot Korean Aloe Vera tea, which was very nice to settle my tummy and mouth after all the cream. She is the one who told me this is a very well-known cafe! I was too ignorant and under the radar.*</center> I really love and enjoy my pasta that I came home telling my husband about it. The whole place was packed on a public holiday. I saw people of different races patronizing this cafe, even those with young children. They have many different kinds of tables and seats: Usual eating tables, bar tables, sofas, lower tables where we can sit on the carpet etc. They manage to cater for different types of needs and modes their visitors want to be in. I think that is a brilliant idea! The service is a tad bit slow, but I actually did not realize because I was busy catching up with my friends whom I haven't met for a long time. Her daughter was so busy taking out toys to share with me. She was impressed I know some of the toys she has, not knowing I have a son younger than her. It was a cozy home and we all felt like staying there forever and were lazy to move to even drive home. One of my friends did a short 2-minute product demo on us, including the 4-year-old Shanelle. You should see her face enjoying it hahaha. We had also a short video call with little Jansen by @josephinengpy and wishing @iamjadeline happy birthday before I left. This is to serve as my reminder that I too get a short few-hours off on Labour Day! What a luxury that is and I am thankful! I went back to my son and husband so happily and slept before they slept that night. LOL!
