Suggestion for Easy Diary Android app; Create a button to switch back to fingerprint method after switching to Pin code method.
#### Repository
https://github.com/hanjoongcho/aaf-easydiary

#### Components

This feature suggestion affects the security protocol of the app. The app has two security protocols currently in use. That is;

- Pin code input
- Fingerprint input

The fingerprint security protocol is still in its beta stages, but it works very fine. The pin code function is effective too.

#### Proposal Description

On the app, I can use one of these security measures at a time. That is; I can either decide to use my fingerprint to unlock the app, or switch to pin code.
My initial proposal to the project owner was to merge the two security protocol in one page. Meaning that, I wouldn't have to switch between the two security input methods. I could simply decide to type in my pin or use my fingerprint. The project owner refuted my idea at first though. He explained why it would be sort of impossible to implement my suggestion. I could understand his idea, but he didn't understand mine. After a lengthy discussion, I opted to propose a feature which would still enhance the usability of the security feature.

I proposed that;

- There should be a way for users to get back to the fingerprint input, even after they have opted to use the pin code method.

My idea stemmed from the fact that; After opting to use the pin code method, I can't get back to the fingerprint input screen and my fingerprint can't unlock the app from the pin code screen.

To use the pin code security method, I have to switch to it by pressing a button at the bottom part of the app. My proposal is to make that button available to swtich back to the fingerprint method.

#### Mockups / Examples

In the picture above, you can see the button to switch to pin code. But when I switch to the pin lock screen, the button to switch back to fingerprint input is unavailable.

Here's a screenshot of the pin lock screen below;

To make the swtich button uniform, it will be ideal to put the button to switch back to fingerprint input on the bottom part of the page. It will be like this;

When users click on the button, it takes then back to the fingerprint input screen.

#### Benefits

- This will enhance the flexibility of the app's security system.

This idea has been proposed by me to the project owner. He said he would implement it in the next release of the app. As at the time of creating this post, the feature has been implemented. So I await the release of the latest version of the app.
