I wanted to run around 5km but I spontaneously decided to switch up my training and do some hill reps for the first time ever! I headed out at tempo for about 2km to get my body ready (as I'd been sat revising basically all day again), and then proceded with 7 reps of 'Cardiac Hill' - which you might have seen/heard of in my previous posts of my runs around the UEA Lake, before heading back home at a really easy pace. I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets ever, and I wish I'd brought my phone to take a picture but I only run with my TomTom at the moment (maybe in a few years they'll be able to take photos?) so missed the chance. Definitely made me that little more motivated just thinking how lucky we all are to be on this beautiful Earth. I was aiming for 10 hill sprints, but after 7 of them I just had nothing left to give and my knees were really, really sore, so I decided to call it a day and head home. I managed my 2nd fastest time on the 'Cardiac Hill' Segment with a time of 29 seconds (with my PR being 23 seconds) at an average pace of 3:47m/km - and for a 120m, 7% hill that's not bad at all! Unsurprisingly, looking at today's leaderboards I set the fastest time by 8 seconds. I think I'll have a rest day tomorrow and run ~16km on Tuesday, which I'll look to run at my expected pace (~4:20m/km) for the Half Marathon I'm running exactly 2 weeks today! ------------ **The Route;** **Pace Analysis;** **Splits;** **General Info;** --------------- As this was my first ever hill sprint effort, I took 1 and half minute walking breaks on the way down after each effort, but in the future I'll look to have no breaks at all or at least cut some of them out altogether. ------------------- **Thanks for reading!** *Follow me for more Running Updates*
