A participant in the SegWit2X working group has a confusion that there will be a potential for replay attack in the event of a hard fork.

 leaving the community with two bitcoin tokens can allow the users to spend their bitcoins on both networks.

The same confusion happened when ethereum was split causing money loss to many companies.

This participant said that Segwit2X's code is needed for the purpose of protection from this confusing Issue.

Segwit2X's development time frame  was criticized as being too short by some of BTC developers as it often takes a specific period of time to catch all errors related to BTC code changes

SegWit2X's developers said that the project will keep moving on forward the original time frame and users will be able to run the software on 21st July.
