# The Story

Western Union's Chief Financial Officer Raj Agrawal confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg yesterday that the company is testing transactions using Ripple's (XRP) Blockchain settlement system.

Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the reason why Western Union is testing Ripple is it is "a thousand times faster and a thousand times cheaper than Bitcoin’s."

Cointelegraph reported yesterday that "a partnership signed between Ripple and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) to provide the technology for cross-border payments to banks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)."

# What does it mean for XRP?

Full disclosure I have a small position in XRP. I sold off half of it yesterday after the run up from $0.80. The XRP supporters talk of Ripple like it's a stock, but it is not. You can see from the 15 minute Candle that small volume is pushing XRP up currently. XRP is going to see some resistance at $1.40.
