Hagar the slave girl had run away from Sarai her mistress last week. 

The messenger of YHVH finds her near a spring in the wilderness, as we read today, and asks her what she is doing. Hagar tells him about her mistress and how she had been treated badly. 

The messenger tells her to go back to Sarai and submit to her.  He said, "**I will multiply your children so that they cannot be counted**."

There are a handful of times where the "Angel of the Lord" or, in Hebrew, *Messenger of YHVH* shows up and promises to personally take care of a matter.   Could this be the God of  Abraham himself?

Listen, repeat, and see the English under the Hebrew in order to start learning vocabulary. Note how the verbs change when a woman is speaking, doing, walking, etc. or when I man does an action. Hebrew is complicated in that regard, but it is not impossible.
