Indian cuisine is one of my favorites. Full of intense flavours, I can't resist a good curry, a mango lassi or a warm naam! And who does, right? I love Asian food too and since I arrived in Vietnam I've been exploring the local cuisine. However, these days I was walking through my neighbourhood and I decided to take a break from noodles as soon as I saw a nice Indian restaurant! That's how I discovered Masala Tandoor, a small restaurant that opened five months ago in Da Nang, Vietnam. Although it's new, the food is incredibly delicious! ## Masala Tandoor As soon as I arrived, the waiter was very nice and made a point of explaining and suggesting me the best dishes in the house. I am not a vegetarian, but lately I have been avoiding some meat and since Indian vegetarian dishes are usually wonderful, I asked him for some suggestions. Most of the dishes in the restaurant are from northern India, more from the Kashemira region. Traditional dishes like palak paneer and tikka masala are on the menu, but the waiter's suggestion was "vegetable kashimir" a kind of vegetable curry with cheese. ## Vegetable Kashimir I've never experienced anything like it before, but I confess I loved that curry. It's a combination of vegetables, herbs and paneer (a kind of Indian cotagge cheese) wonderful! To go with it I ordered a traditional naan and a mango lassi. The naan arrived super warm and fresh! Everything was incredibly delicious! I loved the service and the dishes! For those who want to escape a bit from the Noodles in da Nang, super recommend visiting the restaurant! ## Food from the north X food from the south Indian food is very varied and the differences between south and north are often striking. In the northern cuisine, you will find many types of curries and different types of bread. Naan, rotis and samosas usually come from there. If you have ever been to an Indian restaurant, you may have tasted the palak paneer (spinach and cheese curry) and aloo ghobi (cauliflower and potato curry) which are very popular. In the south, dosas (crepe made from rice or lentil), dahls (curry with chickpeas / lentil, vegetables and spices) and idli (steamed lentil rice cakes) are the best known. With Southern or Northern dishes, an Indian restaurant is always a good choice, no matter where you are! --------------------- ### Restaurant Information
Masala Tandoor [5Lê Quang Đạo, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam](https://tasteem.io/post/49154#map) -----------------------------------------
[Masala Tandoor: delights of India in Vietnam](https://tasteem.io/post/49154) This post participated in the Tasteem contest [Your weekly choice ](https://tasteem.io/event/771)
[What is Tasteem?](https://tasteem.io/about) [](https://tasteem.io)
