Thoughts about organized religion vs spirituality
Hello everybody,

I would like to share my thoughts about our spiritual qualities as human beings and the contradictions of belonging to a particular religious dogma.

I can only judge from my own perspective and I have come to an obvious realisation:

The things that we stand for in our lives is a matter of choice based on our principles, namely our understanding of life and the way things are. I believe in right and wrong just the same as anyone else. I draw the line at the point where I need to and this line is drawn by each individual at the point where each of us needs to draw it. I like to follow my code of conduct and I believe I'm free to do what I want as long as I respect the other people in our world. Sometimes people will behave in ways that other people will feel offended and this is completely normal, since our perceptions differ like the day and the night and therefore conflicts arise. But we all are able to understand that in order to exist in our world peacefully, we need to make mutual concessions. Anyone unwilling to make a concession is a person immature in nature and character and needs to grow up. Our beliefs are our personal spiritual selections and we are free to live with them in peace.

Organized religion is based on fixed beliefs and principles which are fine if one is willing to dedicate his/herself to those. But organized religion is also about fixed rules and regulations which limit people's freedom and the beliefs limit people's spirituality. It doesn't make sense to consciously belong to a religious dogma and at the same time being open-minded. It doesn't make sense to support and preach a religious dogma but at the same time be willing to open your arms to everyone and anyone out there, because in this way it's like diminishing someone's spirituality in order to fit your own concept of God's Grace. God either loves us all or hates us all. It also doesn't make sense to suppose that you know better. It makes sense to suppose that you know, but I doubt if that actually means better.

We are free and the reactions and/or misconceptions begin from the firm beliefs of organized religions trying to impose the beliefs upon the people. It's hard to having to cope with people who're not believers in our environment if we ourselves are believers, but this is something we should prefer rather than spending energy trying hard to brainwash them with our own beliefs.

At the end of the day anybody can inform him/herself with religious matters and life will surely give out reasons and causes to go for it, it's completely normal.

We're all spiritual people, it's in our nature and it's all we'll ever need to lead a meaningful life. For what's hidden out there, we'll search it ourselves and if there's something to be found, we'll find it one way or another. As long as people quit arguing about which dogma is the ultimate Truth and organized religions asking/expecting/demanding the masses to follow it.

For myself, I'll gladly go to the church if I feel like going, because through the religious temples, it's giving me the feeling of a closer encounter with the Divine than any other place but this only serves a particular need rather than a holistic philosophy and although I do feel confused or angry, I prefer to accept my limited knowledge than an easier identification with the religious status quo, only to hide my concerns or thoughts under the carpet.

I appreciate every single comment left in the comments' section. Thank you in advance.
