And now for what we like to call . . . *a true story*. I worked for a large department store many years ago. I was learning how to sell in the hardware department. I'll not mention the store . . . One of the stories the manager told me was about when he was first starting out in the department store industry. He was in the appliance section. The story goes: At one time the employees of a similar department store would sell washing machines. The ads for the washing machines promoted incredibly low prices. So low, that it brought many people to the department store. The customer would then check out for the purchase of the washing machine, and just before the sale was rung up, the salesman would ask, "Would you like a bucket to fill the washing machine with water?" Whereupon to the surprise to the customer, the salesman would explain that this washing machine was not equipt to hook up to a water supply. A water bucket was needed. The customer would then "buy up" to the higher priced washing machine with the hookups. This is an example of **bait and switch** Does this sound familiar? It is happening in the Steemit environment. Scams, and it is illegal. Delegations schemes that promise a great return on investment . . . then the situation changes and you get less than what was promised. That is a bait and switch. Be aware . . . or not. H. G.
