I love cucumbers! Over the summer my cucumbers in my greenhouse climbed the sides of the walls and up to the ceiling! Unfortunately, cucumbers want a lot of water. We went on a 2 week vacation over the summer and our housesitter didn't water the greenhouse so the cucumber plants shriveled up and died. All of them. I was so disappointed. I love raw cucumbers and pickles. I've never made pickles and had hoped to harvest enough to try to pickle. This year will be different!

We have talked about installing a drip irrigation system on a timer for the greenhouse. I'll write more about how that will be beneficial later. For now, it would eliminate the need for a housesitter (or me) to manually water every time. Instead, the timer can go off and it could drip for about an hour and then turn itself off. Easy peasy. I hope. Haha!

I will direct sow my seeds after risk of frost has passed. The ideal soil temperature is 75-90 degrees F. These cucumbers reach maturity at 60 days. I should have plenty to eat both raw and pickled! I'm excited!

I get all my seed from <a href="https://www.rareseeds.com/">Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds</a>. </center></h2>
