Working The Sold Out Rock Shows — IDLES, The Joy Formidable
It’s fun and baller AF to work door for the hyped sold-out rock shows.

Tonight I’m working door for The Joy Formidable — they have one of the oldest fanbases by age that I’ve ever seen, everybody here is 40+ lol. Show isn’t sold out but with 100+ presales and many more walk-ins, the room is getting busy.

Yesterday was insane. Ultra-hype punk band IDLES came through and it was extremely sold out, I couldn’t even let off-duty venue staff into the building due to the fire code.

They crushed it, just insane, everybody was happy.

Later that evening (like, 3am late) one of my roommates and fellow FLUX SQUAD team members came home with some of the opening band as well as a few dudes from Idles, so the partying and rock and roll continued. That’s how we do it in Raleigh, sleep usually is a thing that becomes possible around 5am.

It’s fun as hell to be hooked deep into the nightlife scene of Raleigh. Meeting legit ass musicians doing what I want to do, hanging out, partying, and brewing inspiration.
