### "Why would I be reading this post if you don't know what the **F** you're talking about?"

I'm an addict. A Steemit addict that is. I've been online for an average of 15 hours per day for the last 3 weeks...

I know.. It's ridiculous.. But I can't help it.

During the last 10 days, I've studied. I've tried to find a pattern. A **whale** pattern. Not because I desperately need or want the **upvotes** but because I want the **truth.** I need the truth. I need knowledge. I want to know what I'm actually doing and what's going on..

### What did I find out..?

Whales like @berniesanders for instance, is often upvoting content related to marijuana. Recipes, poems and photos. Marijuana related content seems to be a favorite.

He also frequently upvotes a bunch of photos in the photography category and he's also quite active in the "fiction" category too. Both new and old content is being upvoted by bernie. Perhaps that's why he's one of the "*favorite whales" on steemit*?

**Anyhow** fiction, photography, marijuana and recipe related content, and you might have a shot at one of bernie's upvotes! :)

The major whale, @ned, he's upvoting a lot of introduction posts (other whales are doing that too I know) but ned seems to be doing that more than others..

## How come..?

From my perspective.. It's because he doesn't spend the same time upvoting peoples content that other whales are doing, so he focus on the introductions.. However Ned also frequently upvotes content related too "blockchain" and "bitcoin".

@dantheman, probably the only whale that actually tries to "dig" around a bit to find some quality content. At least he's digging more than any other whale I know of.

He also finds the necessary time to actually comment on different topics.. And I've seen both him and bernie reply on comments "*far down*" the list in some topics, so they spend some real time doing what they do. **-That's awesome!**

@gavvet, a superb content writer and he seems to be a really cool dude. I love the fact that he helps authors and splits the earnings. Much like @stellabelle's "secret-writer" service. I've even thought about contacting him myself to see if we could make something happen!

## Yeah, that's right!
@itsascam, @steemed and @steemroller 

I've even heard that all of these accounts are @itsascam's but that doesn't matter at all. 

The only reason I pointed this out is due to the fact that other people are putting in hours of effort, just like @gavvet does, but **most** of these people doesn't earn a single cent.. Meanwhile @gavvet makes an easy $10,000+ due to these upvotes. (I know. He splits the cash with the author, but that's not the point.)

## Seriously though.. And this is just one mans opinion..
Wouldn't it be better to spread these upvotes on other peoples content instead..?

I mean, upvoting 4 posts from the same person, the same day.. **Isn't that a little too much?**

As I've said several times already. I know that gavvet splits the cash. However, it's still gavvet's account, and 4 upvotes to the same account, the same day on 4 different topics.. That's way too much in my opinion.

And what follows next is what I've already said above.. More whales, dolphins and minnows are obviously upvoting the content, as it's get to that "trending" stage very early.

We are all here to provide quality content, to bring more people to steemit and to be a part of this fantastic community and we all are grateful for this opportunity.. People **can** earn money by creating posts..

Note that I have **nothing** against any of the people I talk about in this post. In fact, it's the other way around. I respect all of them. I respect them and this community so I brought this to the surface. I see things like this as a problem.. A major problem if we  are trying to make #steemit the community we want it to be.
