*I Would Definitely Have A Positive Impact On Steemit If I Had Tons Of Steem Power.*

I wrote an [article](https://steemit.com/satire/@hitmeasap/give-me-100k-500k-steem-power-and-i-will-do-this-what-would-you-do) a few days ago about what I would do if I ever got delegated tons of Steem Power. The article is strictly satire and should not be taken seriously. However, afterwards I felt that if I could publish a satire article about the subject, I should also be able to publish a serious one too. - ***This is the serious one***.

### Let me start this off by telling you this:

I joined Steemit in July 2016 and I've managed to reach a reputation score of 66.2. A score I'm satisfied with and very proud to have achieved.

![stats.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmeHXGBAEMuDgyRHNQGwsebRrLpfVvVVvwFQoGvRgv22wX/stats.png)

I have also managed to build myself a decent following on Steemit due to my consistent articles and interactions with my readers. - I am a firm believer in *encouragement* and that starts with your **own** blog.

If you ignore your readers they **will** eventually either ignore you **or** feel unwelcome or unwanted. Either way, you lose. I aim to encourage, motivate and support my readers. Both through private conversations in Steem.chat and in different Discord channels but also in comments and in my articles.

![stats2.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQQ4ncszPom6mEuro3WXyHMLb4iR2gV2dXye2wh27uChL/stats2.png)

However, I am **not** active in the different chat rooms. I rarely if ever spend time talking with people in general chats, but I ***always*** respond to all private messages I get. Even if it might take a little bit of time.

*I am from sweden and I am therefore a non-native English speaker.*

Even so, I've **still** been trying to encourage and help others around me. For a long period of time. I have amongst other things written several guides which I refer to as *"Steemit 101's"*, in which I share my personal experience, insights and my knowledge.

![101s.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcLRqWFDiN11YShkLqoJNFmYTJGKYsnc25wzRyTnFQL52/101s.png)

[The Crash Collection](https://steemit.com/steemit/@hitmeasap/how-to-steemit-101-crash-course-collection-become-a-good-steemian-starting-today)

The crash collection started out as five separate articles which I decided to combine and re-publish as one instead. During the time I started to write the first 101, it all became crystal clear to me. I had long before that day a desire, wish and obligation to help others. To educate, support, encourage and motivate those I could.

- I started to call myself a support pillar on Steemit, even though I'm self proclaimed.

![supportt.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNnH5hhrSbk4CvzDicS2CUdE2ZtvCSb53nJCxUxPZ8FEz/supportt.png)

Ever since my first months as a freelancer, ~10 years ago, I've always felt the need of helping others. I didn't have a mentor or a teacher willing to help and educate me when I started and that's why I started to publish ebooks, guides and reports myself.

Instead of sharing 17 pages of fluff and rehashed content, I aimed to share nothing but my own methods and my adventure so to speak. No matter the subject or platform I worked with or on.

Many of them were given away for free and others were sold, either as a standalone product or in bundles. I believe that my **reputation** on different freelancing platforms I've been active on speaks for itself.

![imstrand3.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQjyU2vK67PcKkK4c58HH4mRkbkAwM5ngTtsfZWhwcWmo/imstrand3.png)

![imstrand2.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQ2az3HSE7R3miDAV8z4pZmXyuH6w1vLJaHPsGDcwUzkg/imstrand2.png)

So while I haven't been an active seller on **any** platform for a very long time, I once were a beginner. A total rookie. I put in tons of hard work and every single little ounce of energy I had went straight towards my own success.

Along with increased reputation, a bigger portfolio, recommendations and a wider client base came thoughts of helping others. - ***This is the mindset I had when I first arrived to Steemit 18 months ago.***

## While I am still nothing more than seaweed on Steemit...
I continue to publish articles I believe in. Articles I want to share, things I want to say or articles I believe others would appreciate.

One of my previous articles:
[![interact.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXLpR8MCmYchPHd43SEwvM349SVP53EmzhJR7yav9YoCZ/interact.png)](https://steemit.com/steemit/@hitmeasap/make-steemit-an-even-better-place-interact-with-your-audience)

Even though I'm not native in English I still do the best I can to encourage others. Native speakers or not. I believe it's important for ***everyone*** to realize that Steemit welcomes you to this platform no matter your background, race, gender or religion.

### And who can explain this to hesitant people?
Americans and people who are fluent in English **or** people from other countries whose articles are filled with minor grammar mistakes here and there?

Who would be the best to explain this to newcomers?

My personal guess is: ***The latter.***

## I Have Been Here Long Enough To Witness Great Things.

While I've been a member of Steemit for 18 months I've not only made new friends. I have also witnessed fantastic, incredible and amazing things. I've seen the community come together to help many Steemians when they where in need of help. We've done many beautiful things. And even though I am not wealthy or rich I have donated SBD to multiple causes.

I've given away SBD for personal causes and I have also donated money to the STEEMFEST travel fund. On top of that, I also donated some SBD to my own readers to show appreciation for their comments and I've even hosted a challenge/contest with SBD as prize. - ***All to increase my readers engagement and to encourage them further.***

## I Have Also Joined @teamsteem's curation trail.

I personally believe that he is one of the greatest people we have on Steemit. Not only does he spread his votes on **tons** of people to support, help and encourage others. He's also a very talented author who publish the most amazing, well-written articles.

### That being said...
Even though I have joined his curation trail, I manually vote on content too. **Most** of my votes goes strictly to the Steemians who're writing comments on my articles.

![selfvotes.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQma8gJnaraJLCpuJRP3Q3r4Aid8EXBYQJ78y58M41LbR7U/selfvotes.png)

I strongly believe that authors **needs** to take care of their readers before anything else. Our readers are without a question our biggest asset. If we neglect them we also fail to look after Steemit as the amazing social media platform it should be. That is the **main** reason I try to focus on my own readers before other things.

- I try to upvote and/or reply to each comment I get.

If we **don't** look after our readers, who will?

I obviously self vote too. I vote on **all** my articles with full power. My vote with 100% power is worth about $0.04 and I definitely believe that I am **worth** at least that much for my contributions. That said, I **never** upvote my own comments. - ***Not on my own blog or other authors blogs.***

I believe that the authors will upvote and/or reply to my comments if and how they see fit. I value my contributions but I am **not** the one to decide the **amount** I should be rewarded.
