I understand that building up Hive power has more advantages in the hive ecosystem; more also, it is now compulsory to grow one Hive power in splinterlands. Why Do I want to grow my Hive power? People with larger HP get larger Votes Sometimes you may wonder when your content is more organized and quality than someone; and you discover that it has a larger vote than you. It is the power of HP! Some writers may not write more than 500 words, yet, they have more votes than you. Therefore, Hive Power can determine how larger your votes would be. The higher your Hive Power (HP), the More powerful you become Believe me, there are levels of decision making in the hive ecosystem; and it all depends on how much Hive Power (HP) you have. It is impossible to compare someone with 100,000 HP to someone with 10,000. **New Strategy to build my Hive Power (HP)** _Powering Up my hive every week_ Last four days I powered up 5 hive; and today I powered 5 hive again. These are my goals at the moment to grow my Hive power. If I have been doing this for a year, I would have had thousands of Hive Power. All I know is that it is not too late to start growing my Hive Power; many people that have thousands of Hive started little just like me. Well! I was chatting on a discord channel, and one of the chatters said, “I'm going to start powering up 1 Hive everyday". I believe by now, she would have more hive power. _Consistency and persistency_ Whatever you desire without consistency, you might not achieve it. I remember the first time I attended business class for a week. I was eager to start a business because I was motivated; I started to sell recharge cards online; and after 2 months, there was a low turn-up, and some people did not pay me on time. I discovered that I did not make any profit for 2 months, and 20% of my capital was held by debtors. I was discouraged and gave up on selling recharge cards. Therefore, I believe if I can keep powering up my Hive every week without giving up, for years, I will achieve my desirable goal. _Blogging more often with the hope of accumulating more Hive_ I believe one of the ways to accumulate hive is to blog and comment. I got my Hive through blogging! There were times I was writing 5 articles every week- the more articles I wrote the more Hive and Hive Power I acquired. Hence, I earned all my Hive Power through blogging; I believe I can do that again. Though, I may not be able to blog 5 times in a week, but I will try my best to blog more at this moment; and by the end of next month, I will have more time to blog. _Engagement_ Engagement is very good! I have won many things from participating in contests; I have gotten many things through engagement such as layer two tokens such as MUT, LGN and LEO. I have built connections with some people in the hive ecosystem through comments. **The reasons I prefer monsters with higher health and magic ability in the Back to basic rule**[Click here](https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_28c255dbd1f3e434d8ea4ab3d15ecb7a?ref=chrisamuda) to watch the battle. Here in this battle, I don't need to select a range monsters; the best monsters are monsters with high number of health and magic monsters. That was the reason I selected **Ulundin Overseer** as the first monster. You could see that it took opponent's monsters long period of time to eliminate **Ulunding Overseer** The happiest moment for me was that not quite long when opponent's **Ulundin Overseer** was eliminated. I knew it was the best thing to bring **Halfling Refugee** as the second position: though, I knew it won't attack in the second position because the rule of the battle remove all the abilities from monsters. Hence, I knew it was impossible for **Halfling Refugee** to get flank ability. I brought **Halfling Refugee** into this battle due to high number of health for 1 mana. That was too good! **Halfling Refugee** led the lineup after the elimination of **Ulundin Overseer** and was eliminated in the 3rd round of the battle. **Umbral Elemental** led the battle after elimination of **Halfling Refugee**, **Umbral Elemental** could not be eliminated. The reason it could not be eliminated was the higher number of her health. In the end of the battle, only two monsters were eliminated- \*\*Ulundin Overseer and **Halfling Refugee**. **The Reason I did not like Range and Melee Monsters in Back to Basic Rule** In back to basic rule, range monsters cannot attack in the first position. If it was range monster I placed in the third position, it wouldn't have been easy to destroy my opponent. Except in a situation when a player use summoner with close range ability. Such exceptional case range monsters can attack in first position. If it was melee monsters I used, there was no way I would have won. This is because Melee monsters have to damage the armored before the health. As you can see that all my opponent's monsters had armor, and his **Ulundin Overseer** had 6 armor; it would have taken much time to destroyed it if it was melee monsters I used. In conclusion, don't forget to increase your hive power to enjoy many things in hive ecosystem. It is also important to use the best monsters that suit the best rules. Ii won this battle because I used monsters that suit the back to basic rule. What are you waiting for friends!
