Happy new week and wish you the best. The new splinterlands challenge is to share survival mode battle. I'm going to share my survival mode battle and my observations Survival mode battles are not easy battles, I have some cards that are in cooldown right. The following things I observed to be done for a player to enjoy survival mode:

**Turn your unused cards to survival mode**
There are cards I hardly used in battles- there are cards I haven't used this year, such cards should be used in survival mode. These kinds of cards are good in survival mode battles.

**Prevent important cards from being used in survival mode**
mode The mistake I made was that the moment survival mode was released, I used my cards that I used to play ranked battles; and when it was defeated, those cards were not available anymore for me in any battle. I learned my lesson that I should not use all my cards, especially those that are very important for ranked battles. One can lock his/her cards from survival mode battles.

**Don't be in haste to select monsters and summoners**
Read the rules of the battles carefully, don't be in haste to select monsters; it can make one make a mistake. I have done that several times due to network issue or other issues.

**Understand that the moment a card is defeated, it takes few days to be available in any battle**
 This is the deal of survival mode! The defeated cards are depleted and it won't be use for days.

 **Djinn Oshannus** was my best choice in this position; I knew my opponent was very smart. The high health was the primary reason I selected it as my first monster. I have used **Djinn Oshannus** in many battles in splinterlands; the monster can function in any position, and any battle.
I knew if **Djinn Oshannus** was defeated in this battle the rest of my monsters would have been defeated. Survival mode battle is not an easy battle, a player has to prepare very well because the moment a card is drafted, it takes days to be used again. I don't want my card to be depleted and that was the reason I used the best monsters.

The function of **Merdaali Guardian** was to keep increasing the health of **Djinn Oshannus**; and the idea of using **Merdaali Guardian** came to strengthen **Djinn Oshannus**. The presence of **Merdaali Guardian** would make it difficult for any player to pull down or destroyed **Djin Oshannus**. I knew that the only thing that could stop **Merdaali Guardian** was a monster with affliction and I was very happy when I saw my opponent lineup.

**Venari Wavesmith** was to give armor to friendly monsters- I have encountered battles of which I won the battle due to armor. Armor made it difficult for melee and ranged monsters to attack the health of **Djinn Oshannus** I in this battle. For example, assuming **Pelacor Arbalest** hits the target, it would have damaged 6 health from **Djinn Oshannus** if there was no armor. Using monster with a protect ability was a strategic plan to win the battle especially when one knows.that his/her opponent will use melee and range attack monsters.

Fighting in one direction has advantages and disadvantages. I knew that using magic monsters would be very advantageous to me in this battle. This was because the mana was not big, and I knew the moment a monster in the first position was defeated it would be easy to destroy other monsters. I bought an **ice pixiel** so that all my monsters could attack me in one direction; and that was the reason the battle was very fast.
