<div class="text-justify"> There is such a thing as healthy competition, but as I always say, the best person to compete with is yourself. Competition is one way to bring out the best in the competitors. It, in most cases when it is healthy, serves as a motivation to those involved or the spectators. I am one person out of many who shy away from competition because I feel that I am not good enough. One thing that helps me brace up is when I come in contact with someone one-on-one who tells me, Babes, you can do it, and the fellow is willing to work me through it. Unhealthy in the sense that they want to be like the other person no matter what it will cost them. This set of people even goesto the point of borrowing so as to prove a point that they can also do it. Talking about unhealthy competition, there are those who just want to please others at the expense of what they can handle. In this case, when they get to suffer, those same people they are working to please will still question why they did what they did. Over the weekend the young boy told me he is preparing for a debate that is to take place on Wednesday this week, so this has helped him to put in all his best to make sure he makes it as one of the best. _____ I was so happy with what he told me, and I gave my support because I have picked him as an intelligent fellow.Overcoming this shyness and a sense of "I can't do it" to the place of "I can do it even when I try and fail; I can still try" is a good sign of growth for me. I have failed in several areas of life endeavor, but that didn't make me stop trying. So I strongly believe that engaging in healthy competition is one way to show that someone is growing. In venturing into competition, it is important to note that one has to discover his niche, that is to say, what one can do so well. _____ In discovering one's niche, it will help to minimize wasted efforts. What one is so good at, and he puts in the required effort, will yield more results than viral things. In this too, it is so important to also get to discover those that have done such a thing before, how they did it, their failures, and more. By so doing, one will reduce several mistakes because he will be working off the shoulders of those who have already succeeded.Competition becomes unhealthy and toxic when it is driven towards proving a point or showing off. To bring a balance here, it is so important to maintain a good balance in the sense that one has to critically examine what he can do and stick to it properly without minding what people will say. _____ Sometime last year my husband's friend came to the house to visit; as the discussion continued, he told us that we have stayed so long that we should consider changing. Deep within I wasn't happy but didn't want to respond so he won't feel insulted. Now, if we should follow his counsel so as to meet up with outside competition, we will go and rent a house that yearly we may go out of our way just to pay. Presently, this fellow is married and is still in his parents house. So which is better? _____ In a way of conclusion, engage in healthy competition because you can, not because of what people will say, because they can't stop saying it.
