Our towns and every creature in them have become predictable. Animals tend to be predictable in their natural environments. Once they are transplanted into urban settings, they tend to adapt their natural practices to the new environment. However, animals can still be very conservative when it comes to their daily practices of grooming, procuring food, or going N1 or N2. I have been witnessing some really odd behaviors in some animals in my street and I just wanted to share with you some images. ### Exhibit N1 The shameless cat. It may be understandable that cats need sand to do their things and in concrete jungle as most of our big towns are, it may be a bit hard to find a good sandy lot where you can have some privacy. This cat, however, could not care less. She lives half a block around this corner and every day, she comes to this very spot, as often as needed. It is a very convenient thing that most metal covers from these water/sewage vent boxes (or whatever they call them) have been stolen.  <center></center> ### Exhibit N 2 We have tons of these little fellas in town. Some of them are pitch black, some are brown, but all of them have tails. What's weird about this fellow is not so much the lack of tail, but his weird habit of asking for food in this house. Even though he cannot fly, he is very skittish and does not tolerate human presence nearby, unless it comes from this house along with food. The funny thing is that these birds have plenty of food around, especially in the gutters where tiny fish abounds. You can see them every day, mostly during the day, feasting from the gutters. This little fellow seems to have lost his taste for fish along with his tail.  ### Exhibit N3 The *asomado* (stuck-out) We have a lot of annoying barking dogs in town. They tend to peep out of their houses just to play practical jokes to passersby. This nice fellow, however, only sticks half his body out to silently say hi and ask for some snacks. My wife loves the casual way in which he leans on his front legs and can stay like that for as long as there is a potential snack provider.  Then, I have to come back the same way and, yes, sometimes she is there again. I try not to look, to respect her privacy, but how much privacy can she get, for Christ's sake!  Thus, we end our Sunday walk, lots of *rara avis* in this town. They say animals end up resembling their owners. Most of these have no owners, but they do know how to immitate the humans around. Of those humans who do N1 & N2 in public I'll show no pictures, of course. They would not look as glamorous and modest as this fine feline. # Thanks for stopping by <center></center>
