How to organize your tasks? | BULLET JOURNAL method

If you're looking for a new method to organize your tasks, the Bullet Journal method can be what you're looking for

What is the BULLET JOURNAL method?

It is an analogue system of personal organization in the middle of digital age. It was developed by Ryder Caroll and you only need paper and pen to start. This system promotes your creativity and allows you to personalize it to your liking, also allows us to remember the past, organize the present and plan the future. All through the elaboration of lists. So the key to succeed with this methodology is to try to carry the notebook with you at all times.

                                      What does it consist of?

The bullet journal is a fast and flexible system that fits you completely. The first thing you have to decide is if you want to use a notebook per year or months. Once the notebook is chosen, this will be our faithful companion. In the booklet we will create an annual record, a monthly record and daily logs writing down everything we have to do each day. And for that this methodology allows us to use the characteristic symbology of the Bullet Journal, where in front of each one of the tasks we will add a symbol that identifies the type of task that it is. There are for example:

• Simple Tasks

• Events

• Urgent tasks Notes

In addition to lists of the tasks to be done, the booklet can also serve us to aim other types of lists on more specific things and we want to take into account, like:

• Outstanding movies to watch

• Books to read

• ETC... The idea is that everything is in the same notebook.

                                            How does it work?

It's very easy. Once you have done the list of tasks of the day, you can put to work to carry them out. When a task is complete you can cross out your point identifier with an "X".

At the end of each month, re-create the next monthly record for the corresponding month in a new page spread. Review the previous month and look for entries that have not been completed (and therefore marked with an X). Tomato 5 minutes to analyze all well and before copying the earrings to do in the new month, ask the following question for each of the tasks that have been left undone.

Is it really necessary to do this task?

If the answer is no, you can cross-check the task completely. If on the contrary, the task does deserve your attention put it back in your list of tasks for the next month

                    Create your own BULLET JOURNAL!

If you liked what you've seen so far, don't think about it anymore and start your bullet journal and follow the steps below:

1) Choose your notebook

Ideally, it is new and the leaves are dotted or squared. It is very important to choose a notebook with many pages and that has a design that you like, since you take it with you everywhere

2) symbols

The bullet journal is personal, we will assign a different symbol to each task type: points for tasks, "X" to completed tasks, circles for events, but friend Stemians, here the limit is your imagination. Add as many symbols as you need and make a legend with the meaning at the beginning of the notebook.

The legend: corresponds to the meaning of the symbols you use

Some symbols:

• /Task

or/Appointment or event

–/Note

X/Task completed

>/Migrated Task

</Scheduled Task

*/Priority/Important

! /Idea/Inspiration

? /research/search on it

3) The annual index and record

The first pages of the notebook will be for the index. As you go using sheets, numéralas in the lower corner and point the Contents and page where it is in the index. This is important to have everything organized and find the information you need later. After the leaves we will leave for the index, we will make the annual registration, here. It points out tasks and events that already have dates (birthdays, trips, etc.).

4) Monthly Registration

On the next page, point to the name of the month and make a column the number of days and the first letter of each day of the week. As we did with the annual registration, here we can go pointing the events of that month to see them quickly. The next page will be to write down the challenges and tasks that we want to complete that month

5) Daily Log

Every day write the date and the tasks and events you have to do. See the mark on progress. Remember: Use only short, clear sentences.

If you want to decorate the leaves, do it. Add everything you need to your notebook: lists, information and planning a trip, photos, lists of books you want to read is a completely flexible system, there is no limit on your bullet journal.
