**The Barcelona club has nine players injured or touched in the week leading up to the match against Real Madrid.**

FC Barcelona announced a new medical absence today, and concerns are mounting at Barça less than ten days before the Clásico on October 26.

As many as nine players are suffering from minor or major injuries, and the plague of injuries is limiting the coaching staff's ability to put together competitive lineups for a week with three matches: Girona, Olympiacos, and Madrid.

Although everything seemed to indicate that his premature return from the Spanish national team due to an overload was not a cause for concern, in an unexpected medical statement, he has been ruled out of the match against Girona as a "precaution." Gavi will take longer, as after undergoing arthroscopy, his estimated outage time increased from four to five weeks to four to five months. Having already recovered from a serious injury, the Andalusian's intention is not to rush, and he isn't expected back until the end of February at the earliest.
