Don't call my journal a diary. I don't know why but it's probably something from my childhood we're not going to explore or something that stuck from a movie or book. Or maybe because I only find the ones designed & marketed to kids. I have nothing against keeping a diary. Lots of interesting people kept diaries: Anne Frank, Virginia Wolf, Lewis Carrol, The Vampire Diaries... And when I tried to look up the difference between a journal vs. diary I got mixed responses: _The main difference between a diary and a journal is its use. A diary is a book that is used to record daily experiences and events as they happen. On the other hand, a journal is a personal and intimate record of your thoughts, observations, ideas, etc. - _[_OLpr.com_](https://olpr.com/blogs/articles/diary-and-journal-learn-the-difference-in-this-article#:~:text=The%20main%20difference%20between%20a,%2C%20observations%2C%20ideas%2C%20etc.) _While both are used to keep personal records, diaries tend to deal with day-to-day activities, more data collection really, and journals with bigger picture reflection/aspiration and can be used to explore broader themes. - _[_agood.com_](https://www.agood.com/blogs/stories/diary-vs-journal?srsltid=AfmBOoqiywlImznO-AhQ_VOTLVVTFKSA_ghVR4bcCLAJB9ytBwZqGaFX) Personally I write all of the above in my journal/diary. But I have never shopped for diary. Needless to say I had an interesting time online today especially when I tried to see if I could leave both terms behind and buy a Captain's Log instead. I'm still traversing that trail and will update you when I find a good one! Do you write in a journal or a diary? **Day 29: National Journal Posting Month - completed√**
