<div class="text-justify">The greater wax moth is from the family Pyralidae. G. mellonella. They are commonly known for infesting on honey bees and their hives. They are also known for generating sounds when they want to mate. The males generate about 75khz that they use to attract the females while the females also generate sounds by fanning their wings producing about 40hz - 80hz that are detected by the males.

Biologist has focused on researching the remarkable hearing of the moth for years. Biologist tested the great wax moth hearing with different sound frequency. They found out that even at a frequency of 300khz, the eardrums of the great wax mute still responded to the sound.

This made the great wax moth the best high pitch sound detector than any other creature in the world, as the bat's peak is at 212khz, dolphins at 160 and humans can not hear above 20khz. Scientists plan to imitate the remarkable hearing of the greater wax moth in the production of advance smaller microphones.</div>
