De vuelta por Buenos Aires luego de dos semanas de vacaciones en la Patagonia disfrutando del nieto y de los paisajes hermosos y el clima fresco; aquí estamos nuevamente dispuestos a aportar como siempre, en esta bella comunidad deportiva de @fulldeportes que pese a todas las dificultades se encuentra activa y vigente, más que nunca, dentro del ecosistema Hive.

Y no podía volver a publicar sin abordar el ya tradicional tema de los  circuitos donde la F1 disputa sus competencias, en este caso el circuito de Las Vegas, la próxima cita del torneo de Fórmula Uno que se acerca inexorablemente al final del calendario estipulado y aún con el campeón de pilotos sin resolver.

Esta cita, la número 22,  nos lleva nuevamente a los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, más precisamente al estado de Nevada en la icónica ciudad de Las Vegas, conocida internacionalmente por sus casinos, sus grandes eventos de boxeo y sus shows espectaculares.

Justamente en medio de esta gran ciudad se encuentra este trazado semipermanente que recorre hoteles fastuosos y ampliamente conocidos como el Caesars Palace, el Venetian, el Bellagio y la avenida Strip, el centro neurálgico de la ciudad. Solo dos antecedentes previos, en 2023 y 2024, siendo el trazado más joven en la categoría.

El circuito tiene aproximadamente 6,2 km de longitud total y se gira en sentido antihorario; el trazado posee un dibujo compuesto por 17 curvas y 3 rectas, la más larga de 1,92 km de longitud. Pese a ser un circuito callejero, es uno de los más rápidos de toda la temporada y su velocidad media se asemeja a la de Monza, el templo de la velocidad. Solo dos zonas de DRS habilitadas, la primera de ellas entre las curvas 4 y 5 y la segunda en la larga recta ubicada entre las curvas 12 y 14.

Uno de los sectores más conocidos se encuentra  entre las curvas 6 a 9 que rodean la conocidísima figura de la esfera de Las Vegas, un área de alta configuración técnica y velocidad moderada, otro lugar destacado es East Harmon Avenue, cuyas curvas 14 a 17 preparan la vuelta hacia el sector inicial y la línea de meta.

Los memoriosos recordarán que en las prácticas previas a la carrera del año anterior, Carlos Sainz tuvo un choque que no pasó a mayores, pero pudo tener consecuencias graves al impactar contra una estructura de cemento dispuesta alrededor de una tapa de válvula de agua; este incidente llevó a la interrupción temporal de la sesión para inspecciones de seguridad. Esperemos que este año este tipo de problemas, que suelen acontecer en circuitos callejeros, hayan sido zanjados y no se vuelvan a repetir.

El último ganador fue George Russell con Mercedes y el podio se completó con el británico Lewis Hamilton, en aquel momento todavía compañero de equipo de Russell, y Carlos Sainz con Ferrari.

Quizás como pocos otros, este circuito facilita los adelantamientos y hace que las carreras sean más divertidas, veremos si finalmente los McLaren logran el ansiado título o si Max Verstappen, el campeón vigente, puede descontar lo suficiente como para extender la emoción de la lucha por el título hasta los últimos compromisos a disputarse en fines de semana consecutivos en Qatar y Abu Dabhi.

#### Las Vegas

Back in Buenos Aires after a two-week vacation in Patagonia, enjoying time with my grandson, the beautiful landscapes, and the cool weather; here we are again, ready to contribute as always to this wonderful sports community of @fulldeportes, which, despite all the difficulties, remains active and relevant, more than ever, within the Hive ecosystem.

And I couldn't post again without addressing the now-traditional topic of the circuits where F1 races, in this case, the Las Vegas circuit, the next stop on the Formula One championship calendar, which is inexorably approaching its end, with the drivers' championship still undecided.

This race, number 22, takes us once again to the United States of America, more precisely to the state of Nevada, in the iconic city of Las Vegas, known internationally for its casinos, major boxing events, and spectacular shows.

Right in the heart of this great city lies this semi-permanent circuit, winding past opulent and widely known hotels such as Caesars Palace, The Venetian, The Bellagio, and the Strip, the city's nerve center. It has only hosted two previous races, in 2023 and 2024, making it the newest circuit in the series.

The track is approximately 6.2 km long and is run counter-clockwise. Its layout comprises 17 turns and 3 straights, the longest of which is 1.92 km. Despite being a street circuit, it is one of the fastest on the calendar, with an average speed comparable to that of Monza, the temple of speed. Only two DRS zones are enabled: the first between turns 4 and 5, and the second on the long straight between turns 12 and 14.

One of the most well-known sectors is between turns 6 and 9, surrounding the famous Las Vegas sphere. This area is highly technical and offers moderate speed. Another highlight is East Harmon Avenue, where turns 14 through 17 lead back to the starting sector and the finish line.

Those with good memories will recall that during practice for last year's race, Carlos Sainz had a crash that thankfully wasn't serious, but it could have had grave consequences when he hit a concrete structure around a water valve cover. This incident led to a temporary interruption of the session for safety inspections. Let's hope that this year these kinds of problems, which are common on street circuits, have been resolved and won't happen again.

The last winner was George Russell with Mercedes, and the podium was completed by Briton Lewis Hamilton, Russell's teammate at the time, and Carlos Sainz with Ferrari.

Perhaps like few others, this circuit facilitates overtaking and makes the races more exciting. We'll see if McLaren finally achieves its long-awaited title or if Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, can close the gap enough to extend the excitement of the title fight until the final races, to be held on consecutive weekends in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
