# The Steemit Name Challenge - @howo

Well I got nominated by @reggaemuffin, and he keeps spamming me in dms to do it so I guess I have to do it. 

I'll shamelessly copy paste the rules from his post :



1. Tell us in a post how you chose the current Steemit username you have. The story behind it.
2. Tell us your real name!
3. If you could change your current username, which name would you choose and why? If you have a possible usernames list, mention it!

## Tell us in a post how you chose the current Steemit username you have. The story behind it.

Well it's relatively easy, when I came to steem I wanted to be the "tutorial guy", basically write tons of blog post on various things and the baseline was that every article would start by "how to ..." and the adding a category you can see that on my early blogging :

So I wanted to call myself "howto" which would make sense, but it was taken, so I just took out the "t". Which gave

I obviously have other usernames that I use on other platforms but at first I wanted to be anonymous on my blog hence the name change.

Well I would not, howo is far enough from "howto" so people don't go like "why are you called howto if you don't even do tutorials ?" and people now know me on steem by this username and I quite like it, it's short and easy to remember :) 

Well that's about it, since this thing has to go like a bad chain mail like in the good old days I nominate @m31, @fredrikaa, @tarazkp, @pharesim and @beercake
